If you’re here, you love a good bargain, and I’m the perfect person to help you find one. I spend every day combing through page after page of retailer sites, checking prices of everything we test here at Consumer Reports. So I know right away when something is at a better discount than usual. And with Memorial Day weekend next week, I’ve already seen some prices fall even lower, especially on mattresses and large appliances. You can check out the full list of my favorite Memorial Day sales, and below you’ll find a curated selection of the 10 best offers on everything from kitchen appliances to tech devices, and more.
Plus, Prime Day is coming in June (the exact dates haven’t been announced just yet). That means there will certainly be more opportunities to save soon. But in the meantime, I’ve curated a list of the best offers available right now, most of which are at better-than-usual prices, and a few are the best deals we’ve ever seen for those products.
A deal isn’t just about the size of the discount. I’ve chosen these products because they’re not only at great prices, but they’re also top performers in our lab tests and home evaluations. I’m a firm believer in a good deal starting with a high-quality product, so that’s always the No. 1 factor in determining whether something is worth your money. Price is obviously important, too, so I’m taking into account the average price, the typical discounts, and how often an item goes on sale when I determine how impressive a deal really is.
There are other items on sale as well, so if you want to keep hunting for more discounts, head over to the CR Deals Hub, where I share the top offers on everything CR tests, including tech devices like headphones and TVs, kitchen appliances like air fryers and stand mixers, and home goods like air purifiers and lawn care tools.
The Kamado Joe Classic is on sale for the first time in well over a year, and the price has dropped $150 in the last few days, making this an opportune time to hit that buy button. It’s our top-rated ceramic kamado and comes packed with features, including a few that make it a stellar smoker. It has an elevated rack and comes with a heat deflector for smoking meats, both of which allow you to easily slow-cook, say, a brisket, without drying it out. It also has adjustable dampers and a locking lid, which help control the flow of air so that you can maintain a low and slow smoke for hours on end. It excelled at slow-cooking a pork shoulder in our tests, as well as at cooking a thin-crust pizza over high heat, helping it earn a rating of Excellent for cooking performance.
This DeWalt DCD701F2 drill is $40 less than it was a few weeks ago. It has excellent power and above-average speed—plus, its handling is very good, too. It won’t take long to charge, and it won’t be especially noisy while working. This drill weighs 2.4 pounds, making it lighter than average. That said, it has a plastic chuck and doesn’t come with any bit storage.
The Farberware Millenium stainless steel set is a great, low-cost option if you’re interested in moving away from nonstick cookware. Not only does Wayfair’s price beat every other major retailer by at least $30, but it’s $20 less than it has been recently, making this one of the better deals you’ll find during Way Day. The reason this is CR Recommended? It gets a perfect score in cooking evenness, and it gets nearly as good scores in all our other tests. The only places it falls a little short are handle sturdiness and sauce simmering.
The GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Icemaker is at its best price. This is one of the best options on the market, according to CR’s tests. GE claims it can produce up to 24 pounds of ice a day (our testing did not last long enough to hit the max). It’s also among the quieter icemakers we tried. This slick-looking model makes the nugget type of ice and does it faster than all other models, which earned it the only top score for speed. It also has the highest water capacity and features a large, removable plastic water reservoir, which means fewer refills. It is the priciest in our ratings, making this discount even more important if you’re thinking of buying it.
This H2ofloss water flosser is back down to its best price. This discount doesn’t usually last long, though it is available with some regularity. It has an on-demand mode (short on/off press) and is USB chargeable, but it did not come with a charging brick. It has a flexible suction spout for flossing in any position, and a removable tank that is easy to fill with a larger opening. It comes with a carrying bag, cleaning brush, two standard tips, and five other tips, including a Periodontal Tip (for Plaque and gums) and an Orthodontic Tip (for braces).
Pet Water Fountain
Petlibro Dockstream Smart Pet Fountain
The Petlibro Dockstream Smart Pet Fountain is back down to the best price we’ve ever seen. This WiFi-enabled fountain lets you accurately monitor your pet’s water intake. It holds more than half a gallon of water, and the whole fountain is wireless. It even has a motion sensor, so it only runs when your pet approaches it, making the battery last even longer. The app can also alert you when water levels are low, which is especially nice since the container is opaque. I own the non-smart version and rely on the indicator light (and the pesky sound of the pump struggling to suck up water when the level is too low), which isn’t ideal.
Ice Bath
Pod Company Pro IcePod 2.0
This portable ice bath from Pod Company is now $20 less than I’ve ever seen, making it an even better deal than usual. It’s a great option if you’re thinking of investing in something like this to keep at home. In our evaluations, it was easy to set up and take apart. It is smaller than the comparable Cold Pod XL (which costs a bit more), but otherwise, the two are very similar. So it may be better suited for smaller individuals. For example, one of our evaluators was around 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds and found this one to be a bit cramped compared to the other model. That said, if you don’t mind close quarters and like the price to test out ice baths at home, this could be just what you’re looking for.
Pizza Oven
Bakerstone Pizza Oven Attachment
Summer is nearly upon us, which means more outdoor cooking, if that’s what you’re into. And if your family is always asking for pizza, you can do that in the sunshine too. But who says you have to drop hundreds on a trendy freestanding pizza oven to make a perfect pie? If you already own a grill, all you need is an attachment like this one from BakerStone. Throw it right onto the grates to heat it up. The grill provides the heat, and while we didn’t try this grill-compatible model, we did try the BakerStone with a dedicated gas burner and found we got great results.
The Veick Resistance Bands are back down to their best price. They receive top marks in our consistency and exercise range tests, and they’re very good for uniformity. Like the Whatafit Resistance Bands, the Veick set provides a total resistance of 150 pounds when the 10-, 20-, 30-, 40-, and 50-pound bands are combined. The bands are made of latex, and the set includes two cushioned handles, two ankle straps, one door anchor, a carrying bag, and an instruction manual.
The LG LREL6321S single oven is an exceptionally strong performer at a great price, especially since it’s $50 less than it was during the last big sale. It heats fast and simmers steadily on top of the stove, earning an excellent performance rating in our cooktop high and low tests. It also bakes and broils evenly. There’s no convection mode, but you’ll find a warming element, along with two high-powered burners on the cooktop. LG earned high reliability ratings for its electric ovens based on our member surveys.
