If your current vacuum isn’t up to par, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days could be the perfect time to invest in a new one. It’s the second (and last) day of the October sales event, so now’s your final chance to take advantage of these bargains, whether you’re looking for a hands-off robot vacuum, a lightweight stick vacuum, or a heavy-duty upright or canister vacuum.
We take into consideration a variety of factors when highlighting vacuum sales. They include a model’s performance in CR’s tests, its predicted reliability based on data from our member surveys, and the size of the discount compared with the original list price and the current “street price” (that is, the typical cost of the product). Several of our top-rated vacuums are currently selling at the lowest prices we’ve seen in months, including great deals on robot vacuums and our highest-scoring cordless stick vacuum.
Cordless Stick Vacuums
Yes, the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra VS90F40DMK/AA is on the expensive side, but it has everything we want in a cordless stick vac. Its average run time is longer than most of the other cordless stick vacs we tested, which means this vacuum’s less likely to die on you in the middle of cleaning. It scores well for cleaning carpets, a rarity for a stick vac. And the vacuum comes with a cleaning station that automatically empties its contents into the station’s bin, a plus for convenience. The price it’s currently selling at is the lowest we’ve seen in months.
Lighter and less expensive than the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra VS90F40DMK/AA, the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Lite VS80F28DMP/AA is a good vacuum to have if you don’t have tons of carpets in your home. It’s only decent at sucking debris from carpets, but it’s very good on bare floors and even better at picking up pet hair. It comes with a station that charges the vacuum and automatically empties its dust bin. The model is currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen in the last three months, making this a deal worth capitalizing on.
We like the Shark Vertex Pro IZ662H’s many features. The wand can be bent to easily reach under furniture, and the vacuum itself folds to allow more compact storage. While it’s only decent at cleaning carpets, the vacuum excels at removing pet hair and dust from bare, uncarpeted floors.
The Shark PowerDetect IP1251 comes with lots of bells and whistles, including a dirt detection feature and a floor detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed based on the surface it’s vacuuming. It’s very good at sucking up debris from carpets and is even more impressive at picking up pet hair. The vacuum can be converted into a hand vac and folded for storage, too.
The LG CordZero All-in-One A949KTMS is a cleaning powerhouse that scored excellent ratings in our bare floors, edges, and pet hair tests. It also edges out most of its competitors in cleaning carpets. The vacuum comes with an automatic empty feature that cleans the bin after each use and a mop attachment (which we have not tested). Its two batteries can be charged simultaneously.
Corded Stick Vacuums
Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002
With the Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002, you’re getting a 2-in-1 tool: a stick vac that can also convert into a hand vac, which weighs just 2.9 pounds. This vacuum earned top-tier scores in our bare floors and pet hair tests. It comes with a self-cleaning pet power brush that’s designed to remove pet hair from upholstery, stairs, and more without the hair getting entangled inside. Though this model has been offered at this price before, we haven’t seen it priced lower.
Shark Rocket HV322
The Shark Rocket HV322 comes with a 30-foot cord and can be converted into a hand vacuum, adding to its convenience. You can clip the hand vacuum to the bottom of the wand for easier storage. We found this vacuum to be excellent at sucking up debris from bare floors and picking up pet hair. It also does a decent job of cleaning carpets. It’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year, so it’s a deal worth taking advantage of.
Robotic Vacuums
Currently the highest-scoring robot vacuum in our ratings, the iRobot Roomba Max 705 checks a lot of boxes. It’s a strong cleaner and is especially good at suctioning up pet hair. The vacuum is adept at navigating through the spaces you want it to clean and is relatively quiet, so you’ll barely notice it.
One of the best features of the Eufy C10 T2292 is its slim design, which enables it to access hard-to-reach areas under desks, beds, and other low-profile furniture. It’s quiet, good at picking up debris from bare, uncarpeted floors, and has brush rolls that are easy to remove and clean. Competitively priced from the start, this discount makes it even more affordable.
Upright Vacuums
If you’re a pet owner, the price on this Shark Vertex DuoClean AZ2002 is a real steal. It picks up pet hair especially well, has exceptional suction power, and does a solid job of containing small dust particles. It also has a lift-away canister, which makes cleaning hard-to-reach places easier. The self-cleaning brush roll prevents pet hair (and any long hair) from wrapping around it and getting tangled in the vacuum.
The Shark PowerDetect AZ4002 is currently the highest-rated bagless upright vacuum in our ratings, excelling in our pet hair and bare-floor cleaning tests. It’s less noisy than many other models and comes packed with handy features, among them a dirt sensor that automatically boosts power to pull up more debris. For those who hate having to extricate hair from a vacuum’s brush rolls, the PowerDetect’s rolls are designed with a self-cleaning feature to guard against entanglements.
The Kenmore DU2055 is ideal if you have pets. It’s excellent at cleaning up pet hair and also stellar at picking up debris from bare, uncarpeted floors. The vacuum has a hair eliminator tool on the brush roll to prevent hair from getting entangled, which is a common problem with most vacuums. It’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve ever seen.
Canister Vacuums
While the Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly CrossOver 21814 might be on the heavier side at 26 pounds, it makes up for it with its strong performance. Compared to other vacuums we test, it’s especially good at cleaning carpets and bare floors. Its suction power also earned an excellent score, the highest in its category. It’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen in the last six months, so it’s worth snagging if it’s the vac you’re looking for.
Even on sale, the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is on the pricey side, but it’s one of the best canisters you can buy. It’s a top-grade performer in our bare-floor and pet-hair tests, but it’s not as great when it comes to cleaning carpet. Miele vacuums have a devoted following, and in our member surveys, the brand earns top scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
Handheld Vacuums
If you’re tired of lugging around a heavy hand vacuum while cleaning, you should consider the Shark Ion W1 WV201. At 1.4 pounds, it’s one of the lightest hand vacs in our ratings. And despite its strong cleaning performance—the best among the hand vacs we tested—it’s also fairly quiet.
As long as you don’t mind that it’s on the noisier side, the Black+Decker DustBuster CHV1410L is a hand vac worth considering for its cleaning power. It’s good at removing debris from bare floors and carpet, despite not having a power brush attachment. And this price is the lowest the model has sold for in the last few months.
Nobody wants a hand vacuum that dies on you mid-cleaning. One of our favorite features of the Black+Decker Max+ DustBuster AdvancedClean+ HHVK515J00 is that its battery runtime is one of the longest we’ve tested, averaging around 23 minutes on high power mode.
The Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 is perfect if you’re looking for a handheld vacuum that’s good at cleaning pet hair. Thanks to its motorized power brush, it excels at picking up pet hair. The dirt ejection mechanism on this vacuum, while convenient, can sometimes jam.
Combo Vacuum-Mops
In our tests, the Tineco Floor One S3 Smart Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner Mop picked up dry debris such as rice, cereal, and sand with aplomb. It’s also very good at cleaning wet spills and removing stains. Another plus: it boasts one of the longest run times among the models we tested, running an average of 36 minutes. That and a significant discount add up to a good deal.
The Tineco Floor One S7 Pro Smart Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner shines at cleaning up wet messes, such as cereal and milk, and does a solid job of removing dried-on food stains as well. Its battery life is longer than that of many of its competitors, and we like how convenient its self-cleaning features are. This price drop is one of the lowest we’ve seen from the product this year.
Steam Mops
It’s hard to find fault with the Tineco Floor One S5, which is exemplary at cleaning stains off of ceramic tiles and producing steam. Its steam run time is around 20 minutes, longer than many of the other steam mops we’ve tested. In addition to being a steam mop, this Tineco model is also a wet and dry vacuum (we haven’t tested those vacuum functions). This is the largest discount on this model that we’ve seen in months.
The GorFanty 10-in-1 MultiPurpose is an excellent cleaner with a decent steam rate. It takes only 20 seconds for the steam mop to produce steam, and its steam can last for around 10 minutes on its maximum setting. We like that you can adjust the length of the mop to accommodate people of different heights. The mop comes with plenty of accessories, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, windows, and carpets.
The Euroflex Vapour M2R is outstanding at cleaning stains off tiles and adequate at producing steam. While the model takes longer to heat up than some other steam mops, once fully heated, it is capable of producing high-temperature steam for up to 20 minutes. It’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year.
Carpet Cleaners
While this price isn’t the absolute lowest we’ve seen on the Shark CarpetXpert EX201, it’s still a solid deal. In our tests, this cleaner does a solid job cleaning stains from carpets and doesn’t leave much detergent residue behind. It’s convenient to use and comes with a hose, a crevice attachment, and a pet mess tool.
Carpet cleaners can be heavy, but one of the good things about the Shark CarpetXpert EX121BRN is that it’s on the lighter side at 14 pounds. It doesn’t come with a hose or tons of attachments, but it did impress us with its ability to eradicate messes from carpets. And while this model has been offered at this price before, we haven’t seen it go lower.
The fast-drying Bissell Revolution HydroSteam Pet 3432 is very good at tackling stubborn messes in carpets and is particularly well-suited for pet owners. It comes with a formula that targets pet stains and odors, a pet upholstery tool to clean both wet and dry messes, a tough stain tool, and a hose.
