GoPro HERO7 Black

VIDEO. The GoPro HERO7 Black takes good video, at a quality like nearly all Action camcorders. Pictures were sharp though not as much as the better models, which means you can see much but not all details and subtle patterns in the image. In low-light situations, the video was good: quite viewable but not as bright or clear as the better models. It captures Ultra HD video at 4096x3072 at 30 frames per second (fps), progressive-scan (p). It has an above-normal frame-rate mode 2704x1520 at 120p fps.

AUDIO. It captures very good audio in stereo, better than most.

PHOTO QUALITY. In Photo mode, it captures at best 12-megapixel stills with good quality.

LENS. The lens has a fixed focal length; it has no zoom capability.

IMAGE STABILIZER. Shooting in well-lit scenes, this model did an excellent job of minimizing the effects of camcorder shake.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS. It survived our repeated-drop test. It has a large 2-inch touchscreen LCD, which has very good quality that lets you easily compose your shots and has fine playback of video. This model is about average in size and much lighter than the average action camcorder.

The GoPro HERO7 Black is a 12-megapixel camcorder with no optical zoom. It has a 2-inch LCD with touchscreen capability. The camcorder has a maximum aperture of f/2.8.

The GoPro HERO7 Black stores video and photos on MicroSD, MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC memory cards.
