Authorized Consumer Reports personnel and service providers working under CR’s instructions may process or review the bill to extract and verify billing information, operate and protect the Bill Decoder, and conduct the research. Before uploading, we ask that you remove Social Security numbers, bank or payment-card information, account login credentials, security codes or PINs, medical information, and other information not needed for the Bill Decoder. Submit a bill only if you are the account holder or are otherwise authorized to provide it.

CR may associate information from your bill with your CR account, questionnaire responses, and other submissions; retain it in accordance with CR’s retention schedule; and share aggregated or deidentified research information that does not reasonably identify you. Learn more in the CR Privacy Policy.

By continuing you agree to CR’s User Agreement and Privacy Policy. You also authorize Consumer Reports to use your bill and survey answers to give you personalized recommendations and for CR’s research, journalism, advocacy, and philanthropic work related to energy costs and utility practices. We will not publish your original bill or identify you without your consent.
