To try it out, bought a 4 pak @ $1.97 + tax today due to all the publicity CR got going for it and used it (almost) right away!

Are you kidding me? This is so narrow. It's not the worst toilet paper I've used but I'm far from recommending it. I guess the quality dropped once their sales went up after CR's testing. The rolls are so poorly cut and look so bad out of their wrap that I would not put them in my guest bathroom!

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've purchased and then was fully disappointed after CR's testing. By the time the test results are published, there's such a gap that the product they test may not be the same as the one on sale.

I was using Kirkland for a long time but their quality dropped too. However, lately they also started offering a much better but more pricey version of their bath tissue that is very good and beats this White Cloud nonsense.

BEWARE - The tissue count on a roll had decreased from 200 to 176. Worse, the quality of the paper being used (9/14) is far less soft and tears easier.

Comment:
When I first saw it recommended by Consumer Reports I tried it and was happy with the results. But they have made the rolls more narrow and it is hard to keep fingers from slipping past.Yuck! And the rolls now are often poorly cut and ragged. I'll be going to another brand when I use all of this up. Didn't like having to go to Walmart to buy it anyhow.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
