Good mower, bad battery
4/19/2015
Pros
Mows well
No Gas Engine Maintenance
Cons
BATTERY FAILED
Charger Failed
Best Uses
Small-medium Lawn
Comment:
Mower worked well for our quarter-acre of grass, albeit without power of a strong gas-powered engine.

After two seasons, charger failed while plugged in (as recommended in manual) over winter, and battery now seems not to take an adequate charge from new charger.

Starting over, I'd look for lithium ion battery or clean gas engine.

Comment:
I've the older 24 volt CMM1200 model. Purchased at a thrift store as a CMM1000,, working, for $30. Googling an owner's manual, discovered a recall was made. Entire charging/ starting system replaced at no cost. Returned to me badged as a CMM1200. Original used battery lasted 18 months, replacement cost $110, still in use 4 years later. Will bog on thick grass. Solution: don't wait until you're ankle deep. Zoysia should be cut short, which means more frequent mowing with this machine. I can mow front yard in 20 minutes. Backyard is St. Augustine, and I cut that at maximum height of mower deck.Very maneuverable. Follow charging instructions. Use proper, sharpened, balanced, mulching blade. Repeatedly mowing into stumps isn't very smart, whether a gas or electric mower.
Best features: None of the noise or smell or hazards of a gas mower. Effortless starting.

mower used to cut residential yard approx. 3,000 sq. ft. Mower is approx 3 years old and self drive is malfunctioning and the battery is depleted to the point where its only good for about 1,000 sq. ft. of yard cutting. called repair service they want 225.00 or more to fix. I would not recommend this mower. Buyer beware
