Are clunky, geeky wrist-worn wearables a thing of the past? Well, not yet (despite some commendable efforts by companies such as Misfit), but at CES 2015, we're seeing indications that fashion and wearability are making some inroads into the category. For one, connected-health company Withings, in a followup to its Activité fitness watch, revealed a new model: The Activité Pop looks like a real, traditional watch, but smart features lurk inside. Even better, it's relatively affordable, at $150 (the original Activité goes for $450).
On the Pop's face are two hand dials: One to show the time (of course) and the other to let the wearer know how far she's come along in her daily activity goals; the Pop also tracks sleep quality, and has a wake-up alarm. The company says the Pop can automatically recognize and tracks swimming and running.

The watch syncs with the the free Withings HealthMate app, where users can set their own goals. The app is also compatible wtih over 100 fitness-app partners, so users can customize to their heart's content.
The Pop, water-resistant to 30 meters, comes in some non-traditional colors: Azure, Shark Gray, and Sand. Its silicone band is swappable, too. Withings claims 8 months battery life. Initially, it's for Apple iOS devices only, but Android compatibility is promised. Limited quantities are available today on Best Buy's website, and it will be more widely available starting in March.
