Cuisinart Personal Blenders Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard
A nut could loosen and allow the blade to detach from the base
The Conair Corporation, the parent company of Cuisinart, has recalled 66,000 Cuisinart Compact Blender & Juice Extractor Combos because the nut securing the blade assembly to the base can loosen, posing a laceration hazard should the sharp blade detach.
The firm has received three reports of the blender blade detaching during use, but no injuries have been reported, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall involves Cuisinart compact blender and juice extractor combos with the model number CBJ-450. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled blender and contact Conair for a free replacement blade assembly.
Consumer Reports hasn’t tested the Cuisinart Compact Blender & Juice Extractor Combo, but we do rate 40 personal blenders, including other Cuisinart models, based on their ability to make icy drinks, purée raw ingredients into soups, and crush ice.
