Ford Maverick Pickup Trucks Recalled to Fix Turn Signals

A software update will warn the driver if a single rear turn signal stops working

Ford is recalling over 189,000 Maverick pickup trucks from the 2022 through 2024 model years for a software update that will fix a problem with the turn signals.

    MORE ON Car RECALLS

If one of the Maverick’s rear turn signals stops working, the signal is supposed to flash faster to warn the driver. However, the recalled Mavericks increase the flash rate only if both signals aren’t working. This means they fail to comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Ford dealerships will update the Maverick’s software to fix this problem.

    Ford Maverick Recall Details

Vehicles recalled: 2022 to 2024 Ford Maverick pickup trucks

The problem: The vehicle’s turn signals do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

The fix: Dealerships will update the vehicle body control module software, free of charge.

How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Ford at 866-436-7332.

NHTSA campaign number: 23V848. Ford’s own number for this recall is 23C41.

Check to see whether your vehicle has an open recall: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website will tell you whether your vehicle has any open recalls that need to be addressed.

If you plug your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website and a recall doesn’t appear, it means your vehicle doesn’t currently have any open recalls. Because automakers issue recalls often, and for many older vehicles, we recommend checking back regularly to see whether your vehicle has had a recall issued.
