Honda Accord and HR-V Recalled Due to Seat Belt Concerns
The front seat belts in 2023 and 2024 models may not have been installed properly
Honda is recalling more than 300,000 Accord sedans and HR-V subcompact SUVs because of concerns that the front seat belt pretensioners were improperly assembled, thereby risking that the belts would not provide adequate protection in a collision. A pretensioner is a device designed to snug up the seat belt the instant a collision occurs, optimizing its benefits to securing occupants.

The problem: The installation of a rivet used to secure the front seat belt pretensioners was skipped during assembly.
The fix: Honda dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat belt pretensioner assembly with a nondefective part.

Check to see whether your vehicle has an open recall: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website will tell you whether your vehicle has any open recalls that need to be addressed.
If you plug your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website and a recall doesn’t appear, it means your vehicle doesn’t currently have any open recalls. Because automakers issue recalls often, and for many older vehicles, we recommend checking back regularly to see whether your vehicle has had a recall issued.
