What Owners Say
"4 cyl somewhat slow to accelerate but drives nicely on the open road once cruise speed is obtained. It is a very comfortable car in which to take trips"
Anonymous, KY (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"The 4 cylinder motor rarely feels strained and does a great job of most anything. The all-wheel drive is also great to have in wet or snowy conditions and functions seamlessly."
MARK B., OH (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"It is very sluggish when accelerating. We have the 4 cylinder engine, it doesn't like steep roads."
Anonymous, OH (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"the ride. it's the fastest vehicle i've ever driven speed on the highway. handling wow."
STANLEY H., SK (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"Rides like a dream at higway speeds. Four cylinder engine underpowered. Turning radius poor. Oil consumption terrible. Led to premature engine failure."
Anonymous, NY (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"The handling is really outstanding. On tight turns and corners I feel like it has a magnet connected to the road. Very predictable and reliable. On the other hand, the acceleration is dreadful. I call it the Flintstones Car, you need to flap your arms to get it moving."
David G., NY (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"A bit slow transmission when going from reverse to forward and turning radius is not very tight"
Brian D., WI (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"Very quiet inside and holds the road well on long trips. --- economical."
Thomas B., MI (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"Slow acceleration, shifts hard, clutch slips, but drives straight and is comfortable."
Anonymous, WI (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"Acceleration is terrible and I feel vulnerable at intersections. In ECO mode, the acceleration is so poor I consider it dangerous."
Anonymous, CA (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"The engine, probably because of the low oil problem, makes a clunking noise all the time which makes accelerating a little scary, like you're going to blow a rod or head gasket. The steering wheel shakes when you apply the breaks."
Todd B., FL (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"Acceleration is only adequate as we have the 4 cylinder. It often downshifts at 110 kph or higher with slightest upgrade and some headwind - not enough power. The ride is good other than on rough roads. car is quiet, and an excellent highway cruiser. Handling is good but the vehicle is somewhat difficult to park as there are no visual references. At sharp right hand corners in city driving we often hit the curb with the right side rear wheel as we lose reference. Car does not turn very sharp when parking. The car is excellent on loose gravel roads; we have front wheel drive. The brakes and Michelin tires work very well, we have been in several dangerous situations where extreme braking was needed. We also hit a deer at highway speeds which did some $10,000 damages but the car still got us home without problem even though radiator was pushed up tight to the front of motor. We had no injury but the deer was thrown hard into the ditch."
Anonymous, MB (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)"This car is very comfortable driving. It is a little under powered, but this is not a major problem. Most of the miles on this car have been Interstate driving and it does a great job over the road."
John L., KY (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)
"We have a 4 cylinder engine. The engine is too small for the car. We should have gotten the 6 cylinder engine."
Bruce B., WI (2010 Chevrolet Equinox)
