What Owners Say
"We've had recurring issues with the screen freezing. This is an occasional problem, but annoying. A major software update helped, but the problems continue. We filed a complaint with the California Consumer Protection office, but lost in arbitration. GM's representative -- reading off a script -- said that the car is functioning as designed. Sadly, our family will now never buy or lease another GM car."
Anonymous, RI (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"As your driving along the display just goes blank for several seconds and then seems to do a reboot and starts up and works normal. In my eight months owning vehicle this happened once a month at first but now happens two or three times a month"
Anonymous, AZ (2015 Chevrolet Volt None Plug-in Hybrid)"Instrument cluster screen went blank but was easily fixed by Dealership free of charge by rebooting the IPC"
Evelyn M., ON (2015 Chevrolet Volt None Plug-in Hybrid)"While driving, the screen has gone blank. Have not been satisfied with the dealers attempt to fix it"
Michael M., CA (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"In-dash display reboots - infrequent."
William R., NC (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"usually goes into indexing mode instead of starting to play when connecting a USB device"
Anonymous, CA (2015 Chevrolet Volt None Plug-in Hybrid)"The device interface system just plainly sucks since it doesn't communicate well with the iPod. I have to use my iPhone now, but even it has trouble seeing it after plugging in, or starts songs alphabetically instead of the last one played. FAIL"
Peter M., FL (2015 Chevrolet Volt None Plug-in Hybrid)"Radio was switching sources on its own with phone paired and apps running. Updated software for radio"
Anonymous, CA (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"Bluetooth is intermittent. Sometimes my phone connects sometimes not. Most of the time when the phone is plugged into the USB port, bluetooth does not work"
John S., NM (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"Will often loose its pairing with the cell phone"
Michael M., CA (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"The Volt often fails to link with either Android or iPhone, or appears to take a call but there is no audio for the call and the radio continues to play."
Anonymous, RI (2015 Chevrolet Volt None 1.4-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"AM radio does not work. Dealer says its because of a leak in the complex AM/FM/GPS/OnStar/. . . antenna. It will cost ~$400 to repair."

"Screen froze about once a day and after a few minutes rebooted and worked fine for rest of drive. Chevrolet dealer replaced radio under CPO warranty. No charge. Problem resolved. Great service."
