The Edge shares components with the Lincoln MKX. The 3.5-liter V6 engine is mated to a six-speed automatic, and returns 16 mpg overall. All-wheel drive is available. The Edge doesn't offer a third-row seat like the family-oriented Flex. The ride is good, and the powertrain is quite strong, but it lacks refinement. The Edge isn't particularly agile, but handling is ultimately secure. Interior fit and finish is unimpressive. IIHS crash-test results are commendable.
