What Owners Say
"That it is still in very good condition considering age of vehicle. Has plenty of power for a F-150 and 4 wheel drive is great on back roads."
Anonymous, CA (2000 Ford F-150)"The standard transmission is wonderful. I owned the truck for 13 years and never had transmission issues. This truck, when taken care of, will last a very long time."
Joseph B., TX (2000 Ford F-150)"has good power-four wheel drive is excellant"
Anonymous, NY (2000 Ford F-150)"Drives good with plenty of power"
Anonymous, MN (2000 Ford F-150)"Acceleration is more than adequate but the engine sounds like it's going to break apart above 4,000 RPM. It seldom goes there, though (usually uphill towing a trailer), and hasn't actually broken apart. Handling is better than I expect from a truck."
Ronald S., CO (2000 Ford F-150)"Love my F150, however it's always had a stiff clutch, which I've adapted to."
Anonymous, WA (2000 Ford F-150)"Acceleration is terrible and I get no road feel from the steering. It almost seems like the steering wheel is loose."
Traci T., SC (2000 Ford F-150)"Ride is soft. The start to stop acceleration is good."
John P., BC (2000 Ford F-150)"5.4L V8 gives great acceleration."
Anonymous, SC (2000 Ford F-150)"Considering the vehicle is a 1997 with 217000 miles and the engine is a 4.6 lit. v8 the engine has always done what I have needed. However, by today's standards it works a little harder in entrance lanes on the expressway. Otherwise, it is still very good."
Anonymous, TN (2000 Ford F-150)"It is slow to accelerate, gulps fuel, but it runs pretty well for a repaired engine and badly rusting frame. It is still very powerful for pulling out trees and hauling heavy loads. I only use it for farm chores and hauling large loads."
Robert M., VA (2000 Ford F-150)"Incredibly reliable. No repairs needed."
Anonymous, MD (2000 Ford F-150)"After 19 years, it is still great and fun to drive. And it still looks great."
Anonymous, IL (2000 Ford F-150)"For an 18 year old truck it still rides and runs good. The air-conditioning still works good with no repairs in the past. I did have trouble with water leaks which were solved by replacing both front and back glass. I have fluid leaks oil and transmission but just check levels often as it is too costly to repair and the leaks are small."
Mike-Stephanie M., TX (2000 Ford F-150)"great handling"
Gary S., ND (2000 Ford F-150)"Dependability"
Terrence C., AZ (2000 Ford F-150)"Plenty of power."
Dennis N., PA (2000 Ford F-150)"What is there to say - it is a V8 and has the expected get up and go expected. Despite being a full size truck - it handles extremely well in all the seasons of the year - it is especially sure footed in winter."
Gilbert S., IL (2000 Ford F-150)"This vehicle has satisfied all expectations, driving, reliability, comfort and handling"
Anonymous, MN (2000 Ford F-150)"both work satisfactorily"
Anonymous, IL (2000 Ford F-150)"Transmission is defective. This is a known issue with the 1 to 2 shift accumulator."
Anonymous, VA (2000 Ford F-150)"Responsive to steering, stable driving platform."
Anonymous, TN (2000 Ford F-150)"The 4.2L is greatly under powered"
Anonymous, TX (2000 Ford F-150)
"great driving"
