Additionally had issues with EGR regeneration system on 1 occasions requiring reluctant heater replacement (80k miles). All problems were resolved by the Ford dealer.""

"On a regular scheduled maintenance @ Ford they discovered steering linkage wear that I thought was premature for a vehicle under 50k miles and did not notice a problem. They said it was a common problem with that generation. Of coarse it was well out of all warranties and cost me up to $3k."

""Downstream NOx sensor failed. When it did the truck immediately triggered a CEL and triggered a "50 miles until your speed is limited" warning, then the miles started counting down. For a DOWNSTREAM sensor. I understand with the complexity of DEF systems and if the Upstream sensor failed this cascade of events would have made sense. I also understand what the Downstream sensor does and it is important, but not 50 miles important. CEL light and an annoying message every time I drive and every 10 miles or something, but bricking my truck for a Downstream sensor is a blatant cash grab from Ford. These trucks are used to Haul, so how often does this happen to folks on the road and they are forced to go to a dealer instead of fixing it at home?""
