Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"The CVT transmission is actually rather nice to use. It makes the car feel faster than it actually is and gives you a fair amount of torque from a dead stop. I would definitely recommend the CVT transmission over the automatic or manual standard transmissions."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Handles well but slow acceleration when passing on highways"

Anonymous, NB (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Easy to handle and drive. Enjoy driving it."

Leslie M., SC (2017 Honda HR-V)

"good fuel economy, good. interior space reduced, bad."

Ivan D., NJ (2017 Honda HR-V)

"I am very happy with this car, but wish the road noise was less."

Gail P., OH (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Handles well but could use a bit more power"

Robert F., PA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"There is not enough power when accelerating on hills, etc"

Anonymous, MA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"great drive, not as great acceleration as Acura but still great"

Anonymous, AL (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Car is quick and maneuverable like a sporty car. This HRV is a manual transmission, front wheel drive only. Do not buy an AWD version with the CVT, which is terribly slow"

Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda HR-V)

"My HR-V quickly accelerates from a full stop, which I absolutely love! And the auto transmission (CVS?) is so smooth when shifting - not like the older automatic transmissions were. I bought the car mainly because winters in my area can be kind of tricky with little to no plowing done on roads. I was exceptionally happy with the AWD. Has really boosted my confidence being able to drive in bad weather. Handles very well"

Laura G., WA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Too slow, feel like the slowest car in the street"

Hank A., CA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Acceleration is very good even with the Economy setting ON."

Anonymous, NY (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Better acceleration than expected based on reviews read prior to leasing."

Charles M., FL (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Very fun to drive, but could use a few more horsepower on the hills."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda HR-V)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Driver’s seat is very uncomfortable and poorly designed. It has poor lumbar support and lacks adequate controls. Very disappointed and had to buy supplemental seat cushion from Relax the Back which helps but was expensive."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Seats are comfortable, low road noise, ride is comfortable. with the back seats down, can put a 10 speed bike in car. lots of head room, rear back up camera for backing in spaces, all wheel drive works well on snow covered roads. only fault was heater control knob did not work, dealer replaced/factory fault upon delivery."

Catherine A., OH (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Rough ride. Seat belt buckle too low. Noisy ride blocks phone reception, seats sit on box so limits foot and leg position, difficult reaching down to charge phone , awkward console arrangement for cups and storage, tinted windows for driver and front passenger bad for night driving."

Anonymous, GA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Seats are uncomfortable for travel for more than 30 minutes. They are tolerable for short trips and errands."

William S., GA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Pretty loud on the highway."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Honda HR-V)

"The comfortable ride, fuel economy, excellent motor and superior craftsmenship."

Bernard H., MD (2017 Honda HR-V)

"The seats...slight lower back pain after driving for half hour"

Anonymous, PR (2017 Honda HR-V)

"The road noise is higher than I would like, but better than my Ford."

Gail P., OH (2017 Honda HR-V)

"My issue is with the driver's seat position. I am not especially tall, but I find that the driver's seat should be able to adjust 3 or 4 MORE inches, back. I simply do not have enough room, even though the seat is extended all the way. I even asked the dealership if the seat could be re-adjusted (from its bolts underneath) to no avail."

Anonymous, AL (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Seats do not push back far enough for long legged people to ride comfortably for a long trip. Also hard to get feet out of foot well to exit vehicle. (This is from owner's mobility compromised wife)"

Karen H., LA (2017 Honda HR-V)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Very versatile and flexible cargo area, for a price equal to a cramped compact car"

Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda HR-V)

"It is roomier than a Honda Fit but just as easy to adjust seats for moving things."

Michael B., FL (2017 Honda HR-V)

"good gas milage, simple car to service, lots of cargo space"

Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda HR-V)

"The Honda HR-V is a cheaply made product. It does have a lot of interior room. The back seat is very uncomfortable, but we like the way the seats fold up for storage. The HR-V lacks power, but the gas mileage is great. We average about 30 mpg in all kinds of conditions. I wish Honda made a custom dog barrier that fits into the car."

Anonymous, VT (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Superior affordability and quality!"

Bernard H., MD (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Much space in a small car. CVT"

Anonymous, QC (2017 Honda HR-V)

"excellent car with many options usually found in luxury cars like rear camera, brake hold."

Serge R., MA (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Great solid car. We have had no problems and it looks great."

Julie R., NE (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Good for the money with good safety features and lots of style and functionality"

Anonymous, NM (2017 Honda HR-V)

"This car in the EX model comes with a lot of features while you do pay for them it is nice to have heated seats, back up camera moon roof ect"

Jim L., MI (2017 Honda HR-V)

"I am extremely dissatisfied with the center console on the HRV. I would not buy or recommend anyone buy this car due to awful console. There is NO WHERE to put glasses or phone. I previously had a Honda Fit. The Fit had a really good console. I can’t believe the difference. I like the size of the HRV and the AWD. I almost wish I had my Fit back."

Anonymous, KY (2017 Honda HR-V)

"I was NOT pleased with the bank the dealer selected for me."

Hoxie J., NC (2017 Honda HR-V)

"A piece of junk that you can drive around town, would not take on the road"

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Honda HR-V)

"I purchased this honda HRV , was impressed because this suv was within my budget. I wanted a large not too small vehicle that would meet my needs, and this suv done the job. Thus far this Honda has done very exceptional on long road trips, and every days trips."

Catherine A., OH (2017 Honda HR-V)

"Reliable and fuel economy"

Ivan D., NJ (2017 Honda HR-V)

"The only complaint I have is that the air conditioner does not cool like other vehicles. We had the dealership check the air conditioning but they stated that their was not a problem."

Anonymous, AL (2017 Honda HR-V)
