Rick H., NL (2008 Hyundai Elantra 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"I've complained about noise when the car hit the bump; they finally said 'well, XXX needs to be changed' right before my basic coverage expired... They said 'lucky you!' but I thought such parts shouldn't break within 5 years"
Anonymous, PA (2008 Hyundai Elantra SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Steering pump required replacement"
Philip B., MD (2008 Hyundai Elantra SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Front suspension mostly had to be replaced. Diagnosis was wear and tear. Granted the car lives on terrible Brooklyn streets, but it was the second time major work needed to be done to front suspension. Replaced joints, struts, and tie rods"

Benjamin O., NH (2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"The car has required multiple repairs to the suspension, although it lives a tough life being street parked in NYC. I suspect that, yes, the suspension components are a bit brittle - it has had to have significant suspension repairs on 4 occasions. However some of these visits were likely due to hitting bad potholes. Otherwise the car has basically been bulletproof."
Brendan R., NY (2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Shocks are very worn"
Peter W., OH (2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"brace holding both rear wheels rusted away and had to be replaced"

Anonymous, CT (2008 Hyundai Elantra Unsure 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"It is kind of an anti-problem as, while the shocks and struts had to be replaced and it was rather expensive to get done, this is the first time in 145,000 mile it had to be done. so though expensive it is a great thing that I have only had to do it once so far"
Douglas J., CT (2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"I had to replace the struts as they were worn and needed replacing."
Linda S., MD (2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"It was the struts and several other things. They're REAL good at finding things that need repairs at my expense"
Anonymous, CT (2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Replaced front strut rods"
Anonymous, NY (2008 Hyundai Elantra SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Had sway bar replaced"
Anonymous, MB (2008 Hyundai Elantra SE 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"i dont know from a mechanical point where the problem was but the car would stall while i was driving, causing a very hazardous condition. The car had previously been fixed by Hyundai, under a recall, for this same problem. As I only had 32000 miles on the car at the time of the second incident, I fought for and managed to get Hyundai to replace the entire steering column at THEIR expense, as it should be. The incident was also reported by me to the National Transportation Review Board"
