Kia Telluride

Latest Model

2027 Model Redesign Year
The second-generation Telluride isn't as well-rounded as the original, with some awkwardly placed controls, driving-position issues, and a noisy engine that mar the otherwise well-equipped, comfortable SUV. The Telluride grew slightly in size, giving it a more spacious interior. But it also gained weight, and its 274-hp, 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (replacing the previous V6) sounds grumbly and unpleasant at low revs. Its engine note feels like a mismatch for an otherwise quiet, classy SUV. The Telluride's suspension absorbs bumps well, but the steering is dull, and there is a fair amount of body roll through turns. The firm front seats provide moderate comfort, while the second row is spacious.
The third row delivers good room among midsized SUVs, but is still best for kids. Too many common interior functions are hidden from the driver's view. For example, the primary climate touchscreen is largely blocked by the steering wheel. At least the infotainment screen is straightforward.

2020-Present

2020 Model Redesign Year
The 2020 Telluride three-row midsized SUV offers seating for up to eight people and is one of the best in the category, competing against the Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, and Subaru Ascent. The Telluride has a slick 291-hp V6 paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. It rides comfortably, and the cabin is quiet. The interior is roomy and comes with several well-thought-out details, such as one-touch fold/slide second-row seats. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. Towing capacity is 5,000 pounds.
Standard advanced safety systems include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind spot warning. The 2022 model gains a standard 10.25-inch center touch screen display. The Telluride was refreshed for 2023 with new interior and exterior styling, an updated 12.3-inch infotainment system, and new off-road oriented trims. Second-row side airbags became standard for 2025. The Telluride also received version 1.5 of Kia's Highway Driving Assist system as standard. There is no 2026 model. The redesigned Telluride is a 2027.
