The MX-5 Miata is fun to drive, with extraordinary handling and a slick powertrain. The interior is nicely finished and the manual convertible top is simple to operate from behind the wheel. The ride is comfortable for a sports car, although noise levels and cramped quarters make long trips tiresome.

"great fun toy car - great handling and top down experience. but get me out of the car after an hour. really its a car for around the city (I live in the city) and short country rides - but you cannot take it on trips more than 2 hours. also, golf clubs don't fit in the trunk, and that is really bad design."

"Very good acceleration and precise handling. Fun to drive."

Jeffrey B., CO (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Great handling and a fun to drive car. This is our third Miata."

Joseph S., NC (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"It is a blast to drive making me seek out curvy roads. It really feels like an extension of me. It handles and brakes as well as the Porsche Boxter or 911 as well as the Corvette with a better ride and much less wicked wheels and tires. In fact, the brakes are so well calibrated the front and back wear at the exact same rate, which is unusual. The ride is average which is great for a true sports car. All this and it's a convertible too (no exploding moon roof here)."

David R., ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The vehicle handles like a go-cart. I live in the mountains, and for me, it's the perfect little fun buggy. Curves and hills are what the little car seems to be made forl"

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Nimble handling - feels very connected to the road."

Douglas B., CA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Fun car to drive, but ergonomics could be better. (I'm 6 feet)"

Robin B., BC (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Great steering, cornering, and brakes. Plenty of power, smooth shifting, light clutch."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The engine spools to red line smoothly and power is available at fairly low RPM's so it isn't usually necessary to downshift to accelerate unless passing from low highway speeds. The car handles almost as though it is a part of your thoughts. It just goes where you want it to, so well in fact that I have never come close to its limits."

Rob G., ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Car is handles very well and acceleration is great."

Anonymous, VA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Fun to drive; quick acceleration and steering response."

"It's a fun car to drive. Handles extremely well."

Ohannes Y., AL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The car responds instantly to all inputs, corners well, and is a delight to drive. I would love another half liter under the hood, but if I had it I would probably become a menace to myself."

Anonymous, MI (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"I love curves with this car. It's fun."

Edwin J., IL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Although seats adjustments are rudimentary and entrance and egress are a challenge, once seated the vehicle is quite comfortable. Road noise is prevalent but in some ways adds to the driving experience. The ride is firm but not harsh."

Rob G., ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Surprisingly comfortable seats for long distances, excessive wind noise hindering norml conversation."

Anonymous, ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"A cute car, drives well, but is very cramped and difficult to enter and exit."

Anonymous, CO (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Although it is low to the ground and getting in and out of the car is starting to be a problem for me (I'm 6'2", and at my age my joints are hurting), I love this car. The seats are ergonomically designed and very comfortable, and the car is so much fun to drive. Once I get in and get settled I feel like I could drive it all day."

Jeff P., WA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Stiff ride, noisy"

JOAO G., CT (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"It's awkward to get in and out of. No good spot for purse or beverages, the holder on the door doesn't fit fast food drinks well. You need to be an acrobat to get at the fuel door release lever and storage bin. Lastly, the way younhave to slide in and out of the seats, the fabric is tearing."

A R., WI (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Seats very comfortable. Heating and cooling efficiency vary depending on whether moving or stuck in traffic. Road noise seems relatively high even for a convertible."

MICHAEL G., CA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The door handle is in the way on the passenger side."

J S., AZ (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Seats fit me a little tight. I weigh 211 lbs."

Anonymous, MO (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"seat needed to be customized for comfort"

C F., NJ (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Great around town, but on long trips noisy and after a while the seats are not very comfortable. Not our first choice for a long road trip."

Anonymous, WA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Seats very comfortable, ride appropriately rigid for a sports car, cabin a bit noisy."

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Surprisingly good ride, seats fit me well, lots of wind noise."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"very load road noise (with roof up). can't really listen to audio at speeds over 50 so all those speakers really don't matter. The seats are very comfortable."

Anonymous, TX (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Everything about this car is excellent. Seats are great. It sounds like a roadster should. Ride is surprisingly comfortable and handling is superb."

Bruce D., FL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The Miata is a great little sports car - but it is noisy!"

Richard B., FL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"seats make you feel like you are sitting in a recliner and the car rides like it is on rails"

Michael D., SC (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"It's difficult to get in and out of, but once you're seated, the seat is comfortable. The car has no back seat, so the doors really don't need to be as long as they are. The drivers seat had to be replaced from sliding in and out of it."

A R., WI (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I was disappointed to find out no spare tire came with my MX5."

Donald C., OR (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Miata is fun to drive, handles excellent,"

Anonymous, TX (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"A hot little car at a reasonable price."

Trygve A., WA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"This is my third Miata. Each had great service records requiring very few repairs and each held their resale value. Cheapest and most fun cars I have ever owned."

Michael L., FL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"priced much lower than most convertibles with excellent handling. fun to drive, low repair costs"

Anonymous, TX (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"I paid $23,000 for my 2006 Miata 10 years ago, I've driven the car for over 105,000 miles and only had one repair (thermostat replacement). In addition, the resale value of a Miata is outstanding."

Anonymous, MO (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"My Miata rates just as high and handles just as good as the Porsche Boxer despite my Miata having less sporty tires and costing half as much. It gets great gas mileage, never burns ANY oil between changes and is very reliable. It is 1 month away from 10 years and at123,860 kilometers (77,000 miles) it has not had any major repairs except for a few due to normal wear and tear after a much longer than normal lifespan. For example I just changed my first wheel bearing and first brake caliper."

DAVID R., ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The car is a better car than my '95 Miata however, I think the quality is not as good. Lots of leaking issues. The airbag light has been on for 2 years. The radio died four years ago and I replaced it with an after market."

EDWIN J., IL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Positives: + super fun to drive. Negatives: - low to get into/out of - noisy ride. Not for long trips out of town - Bose/XM radio only so so. XM sounds overly compressed"

JON S., AL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Handling, price"

DENNIS S., GA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Good value for the money and all the enjoyment and zoom you get."

RONALD C., WI (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The car is still serving me well after 12 years. Driving it is about the most fun I have with my pants on."

Anonymous, NC (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Best sports roadster value in the market"

Dennis S., GA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Great price for sports car"

Anonymous, VA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"For half the price of a Porsche Boxter I get the same handling and braking with a better ride and amazing reliability. It has NEVER burned a drop of oil with no major repairs except for normal wear and tear after an unusual long useful life (38,000k for brake pads and rotors). All this and great mileage too. What's not to like?"

David R., ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"This is an inexpensive, FUN vehicle that will put a smile on your face!"

Anonymous, TX (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Purchased it new in 2005. Lots of fun to drive, very good (but not excellent) reliability, decent mileage, low purchase price for what I got."

Anonymous, WA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Car is a blast to drive! Vehicle is not the quietest, and ride can be tiresome on long freeway cruises. But this is a sporty roadster that eats up a windy back road with gusto, always bringing a smile to my face while I enjoy reliable, trouble-free top-down motoring at an attractive price."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"I don't think there is any better bang for buck when it comes to pure driving enjoyment."

Rob G., ON (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"GREAT STYLE FOR SUCH A SMALL CAR."

Anonymous, AB (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"Attractive roadster convertable"

VINCENT C., FL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"I like the look of this year model over the older Miata models. This model has more room inside and doesn't have the "pop up" headlights."

Anonymous, GA (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"overall, the best looking and most fun car we've ever had"

Anonymous, CO (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"It's black, I'm in Florida, it's hot, and the AC cannot keep up!"

Anonymous, FL (2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata)

"The look is great just can size car .hasn't changed much in over 20 years"
