What Owners Say
"My antiocking brake system seems to kick in when I do not need it to at times. It also feels like the brakes are light / do not work momentarily after they kick in"

Anonymous, MA (2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser None 4.0-L V6)"I drive on the beach a lot so this is not a uncommon problem with 4WD trucks driving on a sandy beach."
Robert S., NY (2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser None 4.0-L V6)"One of the front calipers would stick against the rotor in the braking position, causing extreme vibration in the steering. This was intermittent, off and on."
Gary L., NC (2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser None 4.0-L V6)"Both front wheel calipers locked up. Vehicle could not be driven. Both calipers and rotors required replacement."

Bill D., MS (2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser None 4.0-L V6)"The driver side rear wheel squeaks on light braking. This problem appeared about 2 years ago. toyota couldn't find the source of the squeaking problem, but suggested I replace the relatively new non-Toyota pads with Toyota pads at a cost of $200. This did not solve the problem and the dealership refused to refund the cost of repairs. I took the vehicle to Firestone and they said the problem was related to the axle bearings. $1400 later the problem is still instill unresolved"
David L., TX (2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser None 4.0-L V6)
"The ABS on the vehicle has not functioned properly since about 60,000 miles, which was 6 years ago. The ABS appears to lock up one or 2 wheels on emergency braking and avoidance maneuvers resulting in unanticipated swerving of the vehicle. The previous owner had the entire brake system replaced at his expense, since Toyota claimed the vehicle was out of warranty. Toyota was never able to resolve the problem. It continues to be a safety hazard to this day that degrades the value of the vehicle"
