Fresh from the 9-5's debut at the New York International Auto Show, Saab has announced the pricing for the top-of-the line 9-5 Aero. The Aero will start at $49,990 and feature a 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine producing 300-hp with a six-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters.
Other features of the Aero include electronic stability control, all-wheel-drive, and a new front and rear suspension to provide a sporty, comfortable drive. The 9-5 will come standard with eight airbags including a rear seat thorax protecting side airbag. A lane departure system will be optional. Other amenities include leather seats and steering wheel, driver memory seat and mirrors, satellite radio, and steering wheel mounted controls. The Aero will hit dealerships in July.
Following the release of the Aero, a 2.0 liter turbo version will be added to the lineup for the 2011 model year. Pricing is expected to start under $40,000.
The new 9-5 is the first model to be released after GM sold Saab brand to Spyker Cars this past February.
