Got this Martha Stewart tea kettle? Get rid of it!

Consumer Reports News: June 30, 2010 10:39 AM

Hey all 132,000 of you with that Martha Stewart kettle. Sure it's pretty, but it's also pretty risky. In February, manufacturer Copco recalled  the enamel kettles because the handles can come loose or become deformed. A kettle full of boiling water + an unreliable handle = yikes.

The enameled tea kettles were sold by mail order, online and by retailers nationwide from October 2005 through January 2010 for about $35. They came in white, cream, blue, cobalt, sand, red and green. The firm has gotten eight reports of problems, including one involving a minor hand burn.

If you have one of these, stop using it and call Copco at (866) 255-9237 for instructions on how to get a refund. You can also visit the Copco website.
