    Stephen Colbert visits Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports News: June 04, 2010 02:44 PM

Would buying five "crappy" coffeemakers every year be better for the economy than buying one long-lasting, Consumer-Reports-tested model?  Comedian Stephen Colbert thinks so, and he takes Liam McCormack, our vice-president and testing director, to task for empowering shoppers.

The interview aired last night on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report as part of the show's new segment, "Who's Watching the Watchdog?". The full episode is available online and will re-air tonight on Comedy Central at 7:30 EDT.

Colbert will tour our labs in Part II, scheduled to air Monday night.
