Button batteries in Chuck E. Cheese's tchotchkes pose ingestion hazard – 1.2 million recalled

Button cell batteries are not just a choking hazard to young children; if swallowed, they can do serious internal damage to the esophagus, stomach, or intestines.  We simulated what could happen in our labs and it wasn't pretty.

The rings were distributed as part of a promotion during parent-teacher association conventions. The glasses were distributed as part of a birthday package at Chuck E. Cheese's locations.

Consumers should immediately take the Light-up Rings and Star Glasses away from children and return them to any Chuck E.
