Once forbidden fruit for U.S.-living enthusiasts, the Subaru WRX is now in its third generation on these shores. Episode 46 of the "Talking Cars with Consumer Reports" video podcast discusses this latest turbocharged, all-wheel-drive wonder. While it certainly puts down the numbers on our test track, everyday livability leaves a lot to be desired. Clearly, it is debatable how much fun the WRX is when you're not lapping a race course.
Sports cars were in the news last week with the introduction of a new Mazda MX-5 Miata. Details are sketchy, but the excitement of a new Miata isn't lost on us.
Next we answer a few reader questions about how a test car could be possibly modified by changing its engine computer and why the Ford Transit Connect wasn't housetrained.
Finally, we discuss the Ram 1500 diesel, now our top-rated pickup truck. Not only is the EcoDiesel's 20 mpg overall impressive, but the Ram retains the refinement that makes this truck so pleasing.
As with the other shows, this episode is also available free through the iTunes store. Subscribe to the video or audio. You'll also find the video on YouTube.
