Sound quality: JBL's Bandbox Solo had acceptable overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. The bass has little impact and doesn't go deep and is a bit subdued and boomy. Midrange is fairly even but is congested, somewhat hazy and a bit grainy. Treble is fairly extended but is somewhat smeared and sizzly. Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience and is congested. The monophonic soundfield extends somewhat above and to the sides of the speaker enclosure.
Volume:
Provides a decent volume level in a small to medium size room.
