YONKERS, NY – Consumer Reports (CR) today announced the debut of its first ever network television and video-on-demand show, called Consumer 101. The weekly, half-hour program goes behind the scenes of the iconic nonprofit organization to give people the information they need to make everyday decisions and tips to get more out of the products and services they already own - from performance to safety.
Mainly shot on-site in CR’s state-of-the-art labs and 327-acre auto test-track, Consumer 101 features host Jack Rico, a curious consumer and dynamic personality, alongside CR experts and everyday consumers.
“The value Consumer Reports has had in my life has been immeasurable,” said Jack Rico, host of Consumer 101. “From the first car I purchased to the appliances I purchased for my first home, I relied on Consumer Reports’ testing and reporting. The trust I have in Consumer Reports is why I am proud to be a part of this show."
“For generations, millions of Americans have turned to Consumer Reports for insights and answers they can trust,” said Marta L. Tellado, President and CEO of Consumer Reports. “From uncovering the truth about products and services to championing consumer protections, Consumer Reports has long worked to bend the marketplace to meet consumers needs. We’re thrilled to introduce a new way to reach and engage people with the tools, information, and perspective they need to make smarter choices in a complex world.”
Consumer 101 will air on Saturday mornings on NBC and be available on demand. Find more information here.
