Our picks for the best Prime Day deals on baby essentials will help you save big on quality products
    Graphic: Consumer Reports, Manufacturers

There’s no getting around the fact that babies need stuff, whether that’s a stroller to cart them around in, a car seat or baby carrier for when you can’t use the stroller, or a bassinet so they can sleep next to your bedside. Not to mention the endless diapers. But all that baby gear gets expensive—and the ongoing tariff uncertainty has already resulted in higher prices across big-ticket items, like car seats and cribs. That’s why finding ways to save on all the things you need for your little one is helpful, and this year’s Amazon Prime Day sale is a great place to look.

We know you’ve got a long list and not a lot of time, so we’ve done the legwork for you. We’ve combed through all the baby gear CR has tested, from strollers and car seats to baby monitors and safety gates, to highlight the products that scored well in our lab tests and offer some serious savings—both at Amazon and at other retailers, who tend to have competing sales around this time.

The final hours of the four-day sale at Amazon brings even steeper discounts on the expert-backed gear you’ll need for year one—and beyond (though it’s worth noting that sales at Walmart and Target are slated to last through the weekend).

    Bassinets

You can save around 20 percent on the Maxi-Cosi Iora Bedside Bassinet during Prime Day—a good deal on the bassinet that won our Top Picks for Bassinets honor this year. There’s a lot to love, but to put it plainly: It’s simple, sturdy, and safe, folds flat for storage or travel, and comes with an ample basket below for stashing pajamas or diapers. Another highlight: The Iora bassinet is both vertically and horizontally adjustable. It can slide closer toward you when used bedside, and you can adjust it to one of four height positions to better fit your mattress height.

    Still undecided?
CR's expert guidance and unbiased reviews can help you purchase with confidence.

This smart, soothing bassinet from Graco features SmartSense, which detects and automatically responds to cries to help soothe your baby back to sleep, using gentle motion, soothing sounds, and calming vibrations. Though there is no smartphone app for the Graco, you can connect your smartphone via Bluetooth and play your own music or other sounds (recorded stories, perhaps?) through the bassinet speakers to your child. Our testers liked that the bassinet sheet is machine-washable, but note that there’s no storage for extra diapers or pajamas. But it’s a decent price for a responsive bassinet.

The Ronbei Bedside Bassinet can be used freestanding or as a bedside sleeper, with the fabric unzipped for easier access to your baby. In bedside sleeper mode, the unit must be secured to the side of the parents’ bed with the included straps for safety, and the height is adjustable to fit most bed frames. We liked the overall design, including the fact that this bassinet is height-adjustable, and the Prime Day pricing makes it a smart buy.

This Delta Children bassinet has a vintage look, thanks to its fabric overskirt. Its base has retractable wheels, so you can opt for rocking, though we found the motion so slight that it’s barely noticeable. It has a music and night-light unit, and offers vibration to help soothe baby. The Delta bassinet includes a storage basket for essentials. It’s also worth noting that our testers found it a bit tricky to put together, but it wasn’t the most challenging one we tested.

    Infant Formula

Bobbie Organic Infant Formula 2-Pack 14.1 Ounce Cans

Bobbie Organic Infant Formula 2-Pack 14.1 Ounce Cans

Bobbie’s Organic Infant Formula was one of our "Best" choices in CR’s recent formula testing, and it’s currently on sale at Costco for $39.99 for a 2-pack (online only, and only for Costco members), a savings of 20% off the non-subscription price. The formula features organic lactose and organic nonfat milk as its primary ingredients, and is made with milk sourced from grassfed cows. The formula also includes DHA/ARA fatty acids, and is made without corn syrup or palm oil.

Similac 360 Total Care Infant Formula

Similac Total Care 360, which uses nonfat milk and lactose as its primary ingredients, was one of the "good" choices in CR’s recent formula testing and is at a great price for Prime Day: A pack of three 36-ounce cans is 30% off right now, making it a good time to stock up. Just be sure not to buy more cans than you can reasonably use before they expire. The formula is made without palm oil and includes DHA and lutein.

    Diapers

The price of these CR Recommended diapers from Amazon’s house brand Mama Bear may vary slightly depending on the size you order, but the size 1 packs are 15% off from what they normally cost for Prime Day, making them a good way to save money on diapers if there’s a newborn in your life. In our lab tests, they earned top scores for both absorption speed and dryness. The newborn-size diapers have an umbilical cord cutout and are fragrance- and lotion-free. A wetness indicator signals when it’s time to change your baby’s diaper. Though there’s no plain design option, these diapers keep it simple, with an illustration of a bear and the brand name inked along the waist.

    Baby Bottles

    Comotomo Baby Bottle Double Pack

    Comotomo Baby Bottle Double Pack

These soft, silicone bottles are 28 percent off for Prime Day, and proved popular in our recent tests. Parents gravitated toward the Comotomo bottle in part because it resembles a breast and, for a baby, might be closer to the experience of breastfeeding. Overall, parents were happy with the ease of use and cleaning but rated the ease of filling a 4/5. When transferring liquids into these bottles, put a bowl or other container underneath to catch spills. But once the bottle is filled, one Utah mom said older babies would be excellent at feeding themselves because the material and shape are comfortable to hold, and squish with their adorable baby hands.”

Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles with Natural Response Nipples, 4-Pack

Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles with Natural Response Nipples, 4-Pack

This bottle was already at the lowest price we’ve seen, and now it’s dropped even lower on the final day of the Prime Day sale. Our parent reviewers found the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle simple to use with few parts, a wide opening, and liked that it was lightweight and easy to clean. As a 32-year-old Texas dad shared: “The bottle is way easier to fill than other models because of its wide lid and minimal simplistic thread design. Filling doesn’t require a super-steady hand, and unscrewing requires just the right amount of pressure to secure the liquid and allow for easy opening.”

    High Chairs

We usually see the Maxi-Cosi Moa high chair for around $200, making the $159.99 price a great deal. This year, the Moa was one of CR’s Top Picks, scoring high marks for safety, ease of use, and ease of cleaning. It converts from an infant high chair to a toddler high chair, a high feeding booster, a high booster seat, a low feeding booster, a low booster seat, a low stool and table, and a stool. We also liked the easy-to-adjust harness with machine-washable straps (crucial!) and the one-hand tray release and dishwasher-safe tray insert, making cleanup a breeze.

Lalo’s The Chair is sleek, easy to use, and easy to keep clean, which is why it made it into our best high chairs roundup. At just 10 pounds, Lalo The Chair is the lightest high chair that CR recommends. It has some convenient cleaning features, such as a machine-washable seat pad and harness straps (which are also very easy to adjust), and an easy-to-wipe surface and tray. It can also convert to a booster seat with an optional kit sold separately. Just know that if you’re looking for portability, it doesn’t fold or have wheels, and the seat height isn’t adjustable, nor does the seatback recline. But the streamlined design and lack of moving parts help make it a breeze when it’s time to clean up.

Stokke Tripp Trapp Oak High Chair 2

If you’ve had your eye on the Stokke Tripp Trapp, a wooden convertible high chair, you can save even more off the original price now. CR tested the original model and gave it high marks for safety and ease of cleaning, though we found its everyday usability somewhat limited by its harness system with a tough buckle, and a tray that was hard to remove. Those kinks seem to have been worked out in the Tripp Trapp 2, but CR hasn’t yet tested this version. Overall, the Stokke is much beloved and often imitated for its 90-90-90 feeding position, and for how you can pull it directly up to the table for family bonding.

    Baby Bath Tubs

Frida Baby 4-in-1 Grow-with-Me Baby Bathtub

Frida Baby 4-in-1 Grow-with-Me Baby Bathtub

This is the lowest price we’ve seen for the Frida Baby 4-in-1 Grow-With-Me Bath Tub, making it a good buy, especially as you’ll get years of use out of this tub. Designed to be used from the newborn phase through toddlerhood, it comes with a “smart sling,” which clips to the back of the tub and can be adjusted for depth based on your baby’s age and comfort level—shallow for newborns and deeper for babies ready to splash around. When your baby grows old enough to sit, the sling can be converted to a seat with leg holes and a stabilizing bar. As your baby reaches toddlerhood, you can remove the sling entirely and use the basin by itself. The sling is machine-washable, and the bathtub comes with an easy-release drain, nonslip feet, and a swivel hook for hanging.

    Car Seats

The Shyft DualRide is at a great price right now, having just dropped $40 from earlier in the week. And CR members who don’t shop at Amazon can now save even more at Evenflo with an exclusive offer—see below for details.

This model conveniently combines a child car seat and stroller, but comes at a steep price. With strong scores for maneuverability, safety, and ease of use, it’s a solid performer as a stroller, and it also scored well in our child car seat tests. The drawbacks are that it lacks one-touch brakes and the ability to fold with one hand, and it doesn’t stand when folded. But it’s also suitable for infants and up until the child outgrows the car seat, and it meets Disney parks’ stroller-size requirements. When combined with the stroller, the Shyft is on the heavier side for an infant car seat.

CR’s digital and All-Access members can save even more when shopping at Evenflo. Using the code CR15, they’ll save an additional 15 percent sitewide, bringing the price of this car seat down to $382.49.

The Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Baby Car Seat is a strong performer in all modes of use that offers increased leg room for rear-facing children, and it’s at a good price for Prime Day. In addition to the leg room extender, this seat’s 50lb rear-facing capacity makes this seat a great choice for keeping children facing rearward longer, our experts found. It offers a no-rethread harness, making it easy to adjust the harness straps as your little one grows, but note that removing and replacing the seat cover (if you take it off to wash, for example), can be a little tedious.

PSA: If you’re shopping for a new car seat, keep in mind that car seat regulations are changing soon to improve side-impact protection, but rest assured that the car seats still available now have been rigorously tested to meet the minimum safety standard.

    Cribs

This crib is made from New Zealand pine, and it’s easier to change the mattress-support height than it is with other top-rated cribs. It’s also Greenguard Gold Certified, which means the product has been tested to ensure lower emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). But it’s a bit more difficult to put together than other cribs in our ratings. At 34 inches tall, this is one of the shortest cribs we tested, making it a great choice for petite parents, especially those with sensitive cesarean section incisions. The Emery converts from a crib into a toddler bed, daybed, and proper full-sized bed with headboard, so your baby can use this bed throughout their childhood. A daybed rail is included, but to convert to a full-sized bed, you’ll need to buy a separate conversion kit.

    Strollers

The Baby Jogger City Sights is at its typical sale price, at 40% off, and it’s a good deal. It stood out in our testing with its easy, one-handed fold and one-touch brakes. The seat is reversible, which gives your little one the option of facing out to watch the world roll by or keeping their eyes on you. The stroller navigated smoother surfaces best—it didn’t maneuver as well on rougher terrain. One heads up: You will need to purchase additional adapters to pop in a car seat.

    Car Seat Carriers

The Baby Trend Snap-N-Go Double is about $14 more than it was recently, but it’s still a decent discount. This stroller frame can accommodate two car seats. It performed excellently in our safety tests, and it’s as easy to use as the single Snap-N-Go. But it’s a bit harder to maneuver, as double strollers tend to be. It’s easy to fold and unfold, though carrying it folded can be a little awkward. It’s compatible with a number of car-seat brands, and it meets Disney Parks’ stroller size requirements.

    Nail Clippers

    Yiveko Baby Nail Kit

    Yiveko Baby Nail Kit

The Yiveko nail clippers are on sale for Prime Day for around the same sale price we always see, but they were among the sharpest our evaluators tried. They’re on the smaller side, so those with big hands may have a little trouble getting a comfortable grip. The nail kit comes with an owl-shaped case as well as nail scissors, a glass rounded nail file, and soft, nonslip tweezers.

    Baby Carriers

    BabyBjörn Harmony Carrier

    BabyBjörn Harmony Carrier

The BabyBjörn Harmony carrier allows you to carry your baby in three different ways: in front while facing in, in front while facing out, and on your back. Because it goes over the head, this carrier doesn’t have a back buckle (it has a strap that gets adjusted), which may be a plus for users who have a hard time reaching behind their backs or don’t have anyone to assist them. Although all of our carriers were closely ranked, the BabyBjörn Harmony received the highest marks in our evaluation.

    Breast Pumps

Willow Go - Hands Free Breast Pump - Double

Willow Go - Hands Free Breast Pump - Double

The Willow Go hands-free breast pump is at a stellar price right now for Prime Day: 30 percent off on both the single and double models. In our ratings, parents ranked it highly for setup, easy-to-use controls, and all-around usability. The pump has two modes (stimulation and expression) and nine suction levels, and it comes with 21- and 24-millimeter flanges. (Additional sizes can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website.) To use it, breast milk is pumped directly into an included part called a container bowl, which holds 5 ounces, and then participants said they transferred breast milk into a storage item of their choosing. Parts of the model should be cleaned manually, but according to the manufacturer’s website, some parts can be cleaned in a dishwasher. “Overall, they’re fairly easy to clean,” said a 34-year-old Willow Go user from Rhode Island. “There’s just a lot of parts to clean.” It’s a good portable, hands-free option that’s at a decent price now, so if you’re looking for a second pump to switch off with your insurance-backed option, it’s a smart buy.

    Baby Bottle Sterilizers

This Hauteur sterilizer is down to the best price we’ve seen, thanks to the two on-page coupons. Our testers found the design was intuitive and easy to use. It’s “auto mode” runs both a sanitizing and a drying cycle, and a digital timer shows the progress while they run. It also has selectable drying times and a storage mode that restarts the heated dry cycle periodically to keep items clean for up to 72 hours. You can fit up to 11 bottles in the sterilizer. They won’t have their own prong, but with that many bottles, they’ll be close enough together that they won’t fall over.

The Pabablic Electric Steam bottle sterilizer, often seen around this price with an on-page coupon, performed extremely well in our tests for both temperature and drying. Like other models we tested, it has an auto mode that runs both a sanitizing and drying cycle (though it doesn’t have a HEPA filter), and it also has selectable drying times. It has three possible configurations, thanks to an extra tray to hold bottle nipples and other items, but our testers found it less easy to use than other top models. It can fit up to 11 baby bottles, though there are only six prongs on the main tray to hold them in place and they’re very short, which doesn’t keep bottles quite as stable as models with taller prongs.

    Baby Monitors

At the lowest price we’ve seen, this is a good time to buy. The Babysense Split Screen monitor comes with its own display and handles the video feed locally, so it doesn’t have the privacy and security issues of internet-connected models. It has a 5-inch 720p display that falls a bit short of the best models we tested, but it should still work fine for most users. We like that there’s a split-screen feature, so you can use it to keep an eye on two children simultaneously.

This HelloBaby model is one of the lower-priced video monitors to earn CR’s recommendation, and it’s at the lowest price we’ve seen for this model, making it a smart buy. The device has its own 5-inch display and handles the video feed locally. It can show the room’s temperature in addition to visuals of your baby, with functions to remotely pan, tilt, and zoom. It also has built-in lullabies and can be used in audio-only mode. It lacks a night light, but that’s hardly a deal breaker.

    Nanny Cams

A nanny cam can be a good alternative to a baby monitor, especially if you want to keep an eye on things throughout your home, and many folks are turning to wireless security cameras to get the job done. CR combed through the rankings of cameras we’ve tested to highlight the best nanny cam options based on features like privacy, pan-and-tilt controls, and intelligent alerts for loud sounds such as crying.

    Humidifiers

A humidifier usually isn’t necessary for your baby’s health. But you may still want one for comfort—for instance, to make your baby’s room feel less dry, especially if you’re getting ready to turn on the AC for the warmer months.

On just about every measure, including moisture output and noise, this owl soars. It’s convenient to use, though not being able to get a hand into the tank for cleaning is a drawback. The 250-square-foot claimed coverage area is on the high end for a small-room model. Other animal figures in this Crane series include Wyatt the Fox, Puffington the Penguin, Misty the Unicorn, Sidney the Sheep, The Crane Train, Hello Kitty, Freddy the Frog, Mya the Monkey, Violet the Hippo, and Elliot the Elephant. They all perform similarly but different versions go on sale at different times. These rarely sell for more than $50, but these models are at better prices than the rest.

    Baby Safety Gates

Babyproofing? Regalo’s Easy Step gate can help you set your mind at ease. It’s not only secure but also especially easy to install. Our testers found it simple to use, though you do need two hands to open the gate, which may limit its convenience when you’re carrying a child or anything else. It measures 30¼ inches in height and can span openings from 29 to 38½ inches wide, and you can use it on uneven surfaces. It’s now at an even lower price on day three of the Prime Day sale, both at Amazon and Walmart.

This highly rated baby gate is at a nice discount right now. It’s made of a mesh material, rather than vertical bars, so that it can retract fully to one side of the doorframe. Opening—or unrolling—the gate is simple and a one-handed operation: Just press down on a button and slide the latch to the open position. Our testers found it to be very secure once installed, but given the mesh partition, there isn’t quite as much visibility through this gate as with more traditional baby gates—you’ll be able to see over it, of course, but your little one won’t.

There’s no easier design for a baby gate than this top-rated 30¼-inch-high Cumbor gate. With an auto-close mechanism, you can manipulate it with one hand and won’t have to worry about manually latching it correctly. It aced our tests for convenience, security, and installation, and it fits openings from 29½ to 46 inches wide.

    For Parents and Caregivers

Use Prime Day as an excuse to go big on a giant bottle (with a handy pump!) of Supergoop Play, one of our top-rated sunscreens, for all your outdoor adventures this summer. Remember: No sunscreen on babies under 6 months, but Play is a trusty choice for parents and caregivers who are heading outside with tots in tow. Keep the pump bottle by your front door for easy, frequent application—and rest assured that it rubs in well (no white cast) and offers very good sun protection, according to CR’s rigorous tests.

    Bodily The Everything Bra

    Bodily The Everything Bra

At 20 percent off, it’s a good time to stock up on Bodily’s The Everything Bra, especially if you’re in the later stages of pregnancy or in the first year after birth. The gentle-yet-still-supportive Everything Bra can become your go-to for everything from daily wear to sleep to nursing. “When the nipples are raw (and believe me, they were), The Everything Bra felt like sweet relief,” says CR’s tester. “It offered a supersoft barrier between my breasts and the sequence of button-down flannels I wore in the early days after birth. Later, the bra became my pick for nighttime wear. I like the way it cradles my heavy breasts and protects them from friction under the sheets.”
