    Headphones

The Galaxy Buds FE pairs nicely with Samsung Galaxy phones, with phone-specific features like live translation. Their noise cancellation works effectively, and the sound quality is well above average. Our testers also find that, with wingtips that help the earbuds stay in place, the Galaxy Buds FE fit users with a variety of head and ear sizes. And at just over $50 on sale, they represent a good value.

    Coffee Makers

The Ninja Single Serve Pods & Grounds PB051 dual coffee maker is virtually three machines in one: A pod coffee maker, a drip coffee maker, and a milk frother. For single-serve Keurig K-Cups, a speedy first cup is paramount, and our testers found this model excellent in that regard. For drip brewing, we found brew performance very good, meaning the machine brewed at between 195° and 205° F for five or six minutes, the industry standard for optimal brewing and the best flavor. This Ninja model has a removable reservoir, water filter, and an indicator to tell you when you’ll need to clean it.

This large-capacity Zojirushi drip coffee maker is the non-programmable version of one we’ve tested in our labs—though we haven’t tested this one, we expect its performance to be about the same. It has a shower-style mechanism to dispense water over the coffee grounds for even coverage, and our testers found the carafe easy to use. However, it didn’t quite meet our standards in our brew test in terms of bringing the coffee to a temperature of 195 to 205 degrees and maintaining it for five to six minutes. But Zojirushi, as a brand does have top scores for reliability and owner satisfaction for its drip coffee makers.

    Hand Mixers

KitchenAid KHM6118CU 6 Speed shows nearly the same performance in our tests as the more expensive 7-speed KitchenAid Architect KHM7210, plus it has a flexible rubber-like sleeve on the bottom of each beater to help scrape up ingredients more easily and make quicker work of mixing. We’ve seen lower prices on this model before, but this is still quite a deal for a KitchenAid, and it’s a highly giftable item, to boot.

The 7-speed KitchenAid Architect KHM7210 showed very good performance across the board in CR’s tests, not just with simple jobs like whipping cream, but also with tougher assignments like mixing chocolate chip cookie dough. Our testers found it simple to insert and remove the beaters (though the left and right ones aren’t interchangeable), and they found it generally easy use and clean.

    Vacuums and Floor Care

A high performer among the portable carpet cleaners we tested (which as a group clean less effectively than full-sized machines), the Shark StainStriker PX201 Carpet Cleaner is decent at cleaning stains and impressive at removing cleaning solutions from carpets, leaving them dry. We also gave it a very good score for convenience, which combines cord length, weight, and ease of filling and emptying. It comes with a 57-inch hose and other attachments, including pet tools.

If you’re tired of lugging around a heavy hand vacuum while cleaning, you should consider the Shark Ion W1 WV201. At 1.4 pounds, it’s one of the lightest hand vacs we’ve tested. And despite its strong cleaning performance, it’s also fairly quiet. The one downside is that its bin is on the small side, which means you have to empty it frequently when you’re tackling a bigger mess.

With a built-in hose, the compact, cord-free Black+Decker Flex makes it easy to suction up debris in hard-to-reach places, like under a car seat or behind your washer. It earns a stellar rating for cleaning edges and tight spaces. It also comes with a rubber pet-hair attachment that helps remove more hair because it doesn’t stick to the rubber and goes directly into the suction tube. The dustbin is slightly difficult to remove, and you might have to reach inside it to eject all the gunk when emptying this model over a trash can.

Find more great buys in our roundup of vacuum and floor care deals.

    Kitchen Tools

A smaller blender like the NutriBullet NBF50500 Personal is perfect for a smoothie for one. It receives an excellent score in CR’s tests for icy drinks and smoothies, and it comes with two to-go cups with lids. It also earned top scores in our purée and durability tests. It did turn out to be fairly noisy in our tests, but since blenders are used in such short bursts, it may be tolerable. This model’s pitcher and cups are dishwasher-safe.

Don’t confuse Made In cookware with Made By Design, although they both do well in our ratings. The Made In brand is sold directly to consumers on the manufacturer’s website in sets or individually. This 10-inch frying pan impressed testers with its even cooking, which earned an excellent score, and ease of cleaning, which earned a very good score. The handles are quite sturdy and stay cool to the touch while you’re making your eggs or pancakes.

Thanks to an on-page coupon, this pan just dropped another few bucks.

    NuWave Flex Precision Induction Cooktop

    NuWave Flex Precision Induction Cooktop

The NuWave Flex Precision packs in lots of features despite being the least expensive option we tried. Although the interface is a bit cluttered (our expert likened it to an airport cockpit), once you’re over the learning curve, the performance isn’t bad. It browned well and simmered impressively, particularly in the lab, where it evenly maintained melt temperatures. However, it was a bit slower to heat.

    Air Fryers

This is a great deal for the 4-qt. Oster 2208362 air fryer, which runs pretty quietly and is easy to clean. It has a viewing window so you can peek in at your food while it’s cooking. The controls may be a bit tricky to use at first, but for this low price, you’re getting a trusty CR Recommended countertop appliance under $100.

The Instant Vortex 4 Plus Air Fryer 4QT is a standout for the legibility of its digital controls, relatively low noise levels, and ease of cleaning. What’s more, its square basket design makes it easy to fit in a small pyrex dish or baking pan—great for turning out sweet treats. The measured 3-quart model has a 1-year warranty.

The Instant Vortex 4 Plus Air Fryer 4QT is a standout for its digital controls’ legibility, relatively low noise levels, and ease of cleaning. What’s more, its square basket design makes it easy to fit in a small Pyrex dish or baking pan—great for turning out sweet treats. The measured 3-quart model has a 1-year warranty.

The Crux Marshmello 17501 may have a squishy name, but this 8-qt air fryer earned solid scores in our tests for noise, cleaning, and controls, making it a great pick at this price. Like many other air fryers, it features a digital display with pre-programmed settings and a clear window so you can peek at your food as it’s cooking. It comes with a silicone baking pan and a two-year warranty.

    Home Goods

The Coop Home Goods Premium Adjustable Loft Pillow is also on sale. Its price is made of shredded memory foam and excels in our tests for support, no matter your size or sleep position. The Coop also keeps its shape well, showing little to no change in height or fluffiness in our resilience tests. Each pillow comes with extra foam, so you can adjust the filling to your liking. The only area where this pillow falls a bit short is in breathability—it sleeps slightly warm.

You can’t really go wrong with the HoMedics UHE-CMTF45-GY Total Comfort UV-C, which is designed to humidify small rooms of up to 278 square feet. It’s quiet, energy-efficient, and has top-tier moisture output. It comes with a nightlight feature and has an indicator that shows when you need to clean the humidifier.

This 2-inch memory-foam topper provides great support while still allowing you to sink into it. And at 8 pounds, it’s not overly heavy to maneuver. It’s flippable, but this deal doesn’t come with a cover (though you can add one on yourself), and a lack of corner straps means it might shift around. You can return Linenspa products for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Few of us are thinking about space heaters in the middle of July, but when fall’s chill arrives, you’ll be glad you snatched this deal on one of the best space heaters from our tests. This small heater’s controls are easy to use, the fan can run at multiple speeds, and its low price is a bonus. It also comes with a remote and a tip-over safety switch that shuts the heater off when it’s knocked over.

    Speakers

The Marshall Emberton II is a good-sounding small portable Bluetooth speaker that differentiates itself with its styling. So if you want to avoid the typical cylindrical speaker in Skittles colors, the Emberton II is an elegant option. Channeling the styling of its namesake company the Emberton II is a nice gift for the guitar geek in your life. Unlike Marshall’s larger models which sport satisfyingly beefy knobs, the baby Marshall wasn’t particularly easy to use in our lab tests.

    Tablets

If you want a smaller, lighter, and even less expensive Amazon Fire tablet than the Fire Max 11, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (gen 12) is a good alternative. In our tests, its performance and camera both received below-average scores, and the display quality is only middling. But if you plan to use a tablet for just the basics, the Amazon Fire HD 8 could do the trick and save you some money.

    Fitness Devices

    AXV Vibration Plate

    AXV Vibration Plate

The AXV Vibration plate is compact and lightweight with 120 speeds, making it a great, cost-conscious, and portable pick. However, our tester found it ig could be a bit uncomfortable at times: Its texturized surface features knobs set in the shape of a foot to massage the soles of your feet. That texture wasn’t appreciated as much when the evaluator performed lanks on the plate or sat on it—it’s ouch at first, and then you get used to it. The plate is too narrow to accommodate wide (sumo) squats, and it has the least height of the four plates we tried, so lunges aren’t as challenging, either. If you step too far back on it, it will tip over. It doesn’t take up a lot of space and features 120 speed settings that can be set manually (on the dashboard) or via the included remote control.

If you want a slim fitness tracker that just keeps tabs on the basics—like your sleep, step count, and heart rate—the Fitbit Inspire 3 is a good buy at this price. It has a convenient 10-day claimed battery life and comes with both small and large band options.

You can grab the sleek Fitbit Charge 6 for under $100 right now. It sports a full-color, 1.1-inch display. In addition to the basics like sleep and step tracking, it offers more advanced health-tracking features, like stress monitoring and an ECG (electrocardiogram) function that can alert you to irregular heart rhythms. The claimed battery life is an impressive seven days.

    Smart Home

Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Smart Bulbs

Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Smart Bulbs

While it’s expensive, the Philips Hue smart bulb was hands-down the easiest to work with and offered the most impressive performance in our home evaluation of the best smart lightbulbs. The bulb generates bright, vivid colors and displays a good range of color temperatures, plus it works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings when paired to a compatible smart speaker or hub. It can be used on its own via Bluetooth, but requires the Philips Hue Bridge for Apple Home integration and additional functionality. Amazon has a handful of Philips Hue bundles on sale for about 20 to 40 percent off.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus is a revamped version of Ring’s original floodlight cam. It performs quite well in our tests for video quality, responsiveness, and data security, but its data privacy protections could be better. It also offers a decent array of smart features, including two-way audio, monitoring zones, a built-in siren, voice and app control via Amazon Alexa, and alert schedules so that you can silence alerts at certain times of day. Cloud video storage and additional features (such as person detection) require a Ring Protect subscription.

The Arlo Pro 5S is one of the company’s higher-end security cameras. It’s weatherproof and battery-powered, allowing you to place it just about anywhere on your property within WiFi range. It offers decent video quality and features color night vision, a built-in siren, and two-way audio. Additional features like AI object detection and activity zones require an Arlo Secure subscription.

The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is one of the company’s newer doorbells. It doesn’t excel at video quality, but it does provide strong data security, speedy alerts, and quick-loading live video feeds. Features include color night vision, a rechargeable and swappable battery pack, activity zones, and voice/app control via Amazon Alexa. Cloud video storage and additional features (such as person alerts) require a Ring Home subscription.

    More Tech

This all-in-one cartridge inkjet printer comes with an integrated scanner and copier and makes for a reasonable pick if you’re on a budget. We don’t typically love inkjet printers that take cartridges—they tend to be less reliable and more costly to use over time compared to laser printers—but this Brother model comes recommended by our experts and performs reasonably well when it comes to text and graphics quality, as well as its speed when printing text.

The Asus AX3000 (RT-AX57) technically doesn’t support the latest WiFi standards, but for many households, that’s totally fine. It’s a WiFi 6 router that delivers fast, reliable performance, especially at mid and long ranges, and it’s easy to set up. Security and privacy protections are decent, and at just $79.99 (down from $119.99), it’s a smart buy for anyone who wants solid performance without paying for cutting-edge tech.

The new Google TV Streamer (4K) has a sleek look, fast processor, and support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ HDR formats, plus Dolby Atmos audio. It also gets twice as much memory (4GB) and four times the storage (32GB) as the Chromecast model it replaces. The player has a remote-find feature and it leverages Google’s AI to make program recommendations.

This updated flagship model has a new, faster quad-core processor, quicker app launches, support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ HDR formats, and WiFi 6 wireless. Other features include an HDMI 2.1 connection to your TV, an Ethernet port for a wired connection, a lost-remote finder feature, and a wireless headphone mode that lets you pair with Bluetooth headphones. The new Ultra comes with Roku’s best remote control—Voice Remote Pro (2nd Edition). The new remote is recharged via a USB-C connection and is now backlit.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is a mashup of an Amazon Echo and a 4K Fire TV streamer. Its universal remote control capabilities let you control a host of other compatible A/V gear, including TVs, soundbars, receivers, and even some cable and satellite boxes. New features include HDMI 2.1 connections—one input and one output—for controlling other devices using your voice. (One cool trick is that the Cube will also upscale any content from a source connected to its HDMI input.) Other features include support for WiFi 6E, support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ HDR, and an Off button that disconnects the microphones if you don’t want the device in an always-listening mode.

    Baby

The Ronbei Bedside Bassinet can be used freestanding or as a bedside sleeper, with the fabric unzipped for easier access to your baby. In bedside sleeper mode, the unit must be secured to the side of the parents’ bed with the included straps for safety, and the height is adjustable to fit most bed frames. We liked the overall design, including the fact that this bassinet is height-adjustable. It’s usually $10-$20 more than this, so you’re not saving too much, but it’s still a better price than it has been in the last few months.

    Delta Children Rocking Bedside Bassinet

This Delta Children bassinet has a vintage look, thanks to its fabric overskirt. Its base has retractable wheels, so you can opt for rocking, though we found the motion so slight that it’s barely noticeable. It has a music and night-light unit, and offers vibration to help soothe baby. The Delta bassinet includes a storage basket for essentials. It’s also worth noting that our testers found it a bit tricky to put together, but it wasn’t the most challenging one we tested.

This Hauteur sterilizer is down to the best price we’ve seen, thanks to the two on-page coupons. Our testers found the design was intuitive and easy to use. It’s “auto mode” runs both a sanitizing and a drying cycle, and a digital timer shows the progress while they run. It also has selectable drying times and a storage mode that restarts the heated dry cycle periodically to keep items clean for up to 72 hours. You can fit up to 11 bottles in the sterilizer. They won’t have their own prong, but with that many bottles, they’ll be close enough together that they won’t fall over.

The Pabablic Electric Steam bottle sterilizer, often seen around this price with an on-page coupon, performed extremely well in our tests for both temperature and drying. Like other models we tested, it has an auto mode that runs both a sanitizing and drying cycle (though it doesn’t have a HEPA filter), and it also has selectable drying times. It has three possible configurations, thanks to an extra tray to hold bottle nipples and other items, but our testers found it less easy to use than other top models. It can fit up to 11 baby bottles, though there are only six prongs on the main tray to hold them in place and they’re very short, which doesn’t keep bottles quite as stable as models with taller prongs.

This HelloBaby model is one of the lower-priced video monitors to earn CR’s recommendation, and it’s at the lowest price we’ve seen for this model, making it a smart buy. The device has its own 5-inch display and handles the video feed locally. It can show the room’s temperature in addition to visuals of your baby, with functions to remotely pan, tilt, and zoom. It also has built-in lullabies and can be used in audio-only mode. It lacks a night light, but that’s hardly a deal breaker.

See all the best Prime Day deals on baby products that score well in CR’s tests.

    Pets

    PetLibro Smart Pet Water Fountain

    PetLibro Smart Pet Water Fountain

The Petlibro Dockstream Smart Pet Fountain is a WiFi-enabled device that lets you accurately monitor your pet’s water intake. It comes with app-controlled features and remote scheduling, too. In testing, we found the app’s features surprisingly insightful, especially if you need to track your pet’s hydration habits.

    Outdoor Essentials

    BakerStone Pizza Oven Attachment

    BakerStone Pizza Oven Attachment

Who says you have to drop hundreds on a trendy freestanding pizza oven to make a perfect pie? If you own a grill, all you need is an attachment like this one from BakerStone, especially when it’s never sold for under $100. Throw it right onto the grates of your grill. The grill provides the heat. While we didn’t try this grill-compatible model, we did try the BakerStone with a dedicated gas burner and found we got great results.

This corded, electric Black+Decker BEBL7000 is effective for smaller jobs, keeping in mind that you’ll be limited by the length of your extension cord. It can also be converted to a vacuum mode for collecting and mulching leaves into a bag, and the bag can be worn as a backpack.
