The Suburban is a huge, old-fashioned, truck-based SUV, the quintessential family truckster for large families who live beyond the suburbs. What sets it apart from other SUVs is that it provides three rows of seats -- for carrying up to seven, eight, or even nine people -- yet still retains generous cargo space, along with a hefty towing capacity.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Anonymous, FL (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"2016 Suburban LTZ very rough idle at stops. Dealership says "it is normal" and "they can't do anything to change it.""

Anonymous, FL (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The unit has a vibration when it is four cylinder afc"

Anonymous, FL (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Chevy needs to improve seat comfort. All chevy seats are hard and stiff. The bottom of the seat has a stiff contour up on each side and irritates my thighs. I have driven 4 chevy 2016 vehicles for a week or more and all the front seats are the same. Not anywhere near comfortable compared to a ford king ranch pick up or expidition."

COLLETTE V., PA (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Love the overall vehicle bones. However the rear camera is useless and a safety issue and the rear hatch will randomly come down on the user. I have complained about both to Chevrolet and they do not seem to care. I say care because they could replace the camera with something that is acceptable for a 70k vehicle. The hatch seems to think I am doing the kick under the bumper when I am only loading stuff in the car. The gate just comes slamming down. Has smacked me in the head and pinched my arm."

MICHAEL C., VA (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Rear seats were more comfortable in older models. Not near as nice for long car rides as I expected"

SUZ T., NJ (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Very expensive vehicle. Chevrolet has cut corners where they did not have to."

MICHAEL C., VA (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Handles well, okay drive. The windows and doors all leak when raining, water into cab from roof when you open any doors(have had other Suburbans, this has never been an issue in any other model) cargodoor leaks into cargo area when opened things get wet just from water on roof"

Anonymous, TX (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Somewhat pricey."

CLAUDIO D., OH (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Great styling, beautiful interior, and very powerful"

DIANE M., NY (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"I purchased the vehicle late in the model year and got a good deal, near Invoice. Used "True Car" to determine fair price and was at the low end of the "Fair Market Value". Also got a little better than expected price for my 2004 Chev Suburban trade-in."

RAY M., TX (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"I like the style but not My first choice of color. The price was right."

BRENDA L., MO (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)

"Very lousy mouldings on all doors and windows, seat adjustments more limited than our previous model,"

Anonymous, TX (2016 Chevrolet Suburban)
