What Owners Say
"When driving in gears 7-9, acceleration seems sluggish with some hesitation."
Paul P., NC (2017 Ford F-150)"I'm not a speed demon, but this truck accelerates as well as any vehicle I've ever owned. It was replacing a 98 F150 and the difference is daylight and dark. Handles well, brakes smoothly."
Anonymous, MO (2017 Ford F-150)"The pickup truck handles like a large car more than a truck. The small ecoboost engine has excellent acceleration for the size of the vehicle."
David S., FL (2017 Ford F-150)"Very quick acceleration."
Kevin H., OR (2017 Ford F-150)"Good acceleration for my driving. Handles well on highway and off road."
Anonymous, NE (2017 Ford F-150)"very strong motor, very large and hard to park, good handling"

Edward K., IL (2017 Ford F-150)"Good acceleration for being a small engine."
Anonymous, IA (2017 Ford F-150)"Lots of power, even at low RPM"
John W., TX (2017 Ford F-150)"It has the ecoboost engine and the power is excellent."

Chris S., DE (2017 Ford F-150)"Good Drive nice on highways but size is a factor when parking"
John P., ON (2017 Ford F-150)"With a 3.5 v6 and turbo charged it really is quick, especially teamed with the 10 speed tranny!"
Anonymous, IL (2017 Ford F-150)"Very impressed with the low end torque - fantastic acceleration and the 10 speed transmission ensures the engine is always in the best spot in the power band."
Anonymous, VA (2017 Ford F-150)"The 2.7 turbo charged engine in the truck is amazing. The acceleration for a small engine in a 5000 lb truck is remarkable. I had 3.5 liter turbo charged engine in my previous F150 and can hardly tell any difference in acceleration. I'm sure towing is where a difference would show up."
Anonymous, IN (2017 Ford F-150)"10 speed transmission is awesome, especially when towing."
James K., CA (2017 Ford F-150)"The features included in the towing package are excellent, esp the backup assist system."

W M., NJ (2017 Ford F-150)"a little more bumpy than originally estimated during testing. Handles well. If you are pulling a trailer for the first time, make sure you set the brake gain with the tow package. I talked to 4 dealerships on a recent trip and none of them were any help. I had to find an independent mechanic with experience to help me get the settings correct."
Anonymous, NE (2017 Ford F-150)"EcoBoot engine is very strong. It works well for towing my cattle trailer."
Charles W., NC (2017 Ford F-150)"It tows our trailer really well. When not towing the fuel economy is good for a truck."
Anonymous, AB (2017 Ford F-150)"Purchased the V-8 although most vehicles on lot were diesel. Glad I purchased the V8. Very responsive, and plenty of power. Transmission also has 'S'port mode which is like having a boost of energy when you need it...very nice and use it often for needed acceleration around other vehicles or into traffic."

Anonymous, ID (2017 Ford F-150)"What’s stands out is the acceleration, in more ways then one. First, the acceleration of the truck is outstanding, but if your going to use it, your mileage suffers a great deal. You always have to be cautious with how carefully you accelerate."
Anonymous, WI (2017 Ford F-150)"Great acceleration and handling"

The only thing I had to learn was I need a larger turning ration. The ride and visibility make all the difference in the world."
Robert J., TX (2017 Ford F-150)"The 3.5L Turbo V6 mated to the 10 speed automatic transmission is smooth and powerful. It also delivers reasonable fuel mileage (about 20 mpg) in mixed driving."

Charles O., OK (2017 Ford F-150)"see comment before"
Anonymous, QC (2017 Ford F-150)"The first 11,000 miles on this vehicle was a trip to Alaska and back. This was my third drive to Alaska: once with a Suburban; once with a Ford Ranger. Anonymous, IN (2017 Ford F-150)"overall ease of driving enjoyment & satisfaction"

Acceleration and handling are smooth and responsive making driving enjoyable rather than work."
Liz C., TX (2017 Ford F-150)"I have the standard 5.0L V8(not ecoboost) and the acceleration and performance is outstanding. Additionally, I went with the 6 speed transmission as opposed to the 10 speed and I am very happy with it."

Anonymous, TN (2017 Ford F-150)"Acceleration isn't a good as I had hoped."
Anonymous, MA (2017 Ford F-150)"I think an engine that has peak horse power at 6000 rpm not a good match for a pickup. Many times it lugs in a high gear (3.5L non turbo, 6 speed) where at 1500 rpm there is very little power. But I can understand where they want to keep the engine size small. Maybe a longer xxxxxx would be better."
Anonymous, MA (2017 Ford F-150)"I have a crew cab with a five-and-a-half foot bed and it is difficult to wheel it around in confined spaces. It is also difficult to park at times."

Jay T., IN (2017 Ford F-150)"This vehicles acceleration is fantastic with the large eco-boost 6 cylinder. Gas mileage is not what they state but still good for a truck this size and the hauling I do. Handling is fine for a truck(not a sports car). I get some very hard shifts with the 10 speed transmission at times and are wondering if this will be an issue down the line"
Anonymous, CT (2017 Ford F-150)"Great value for a reliable vehicle."

The 10 speed transmission is a bit jumpy in town but performs flawlessly on the interstate"

David R., WA (2017 Ford F-150)"This truck accelerates wonderfully for such a heavy vehicle equipped with such a tiny engine. The ride is smooth, but handling is pretty typical for a modern truck. Factory rear suspension could be more precise. The factory rear shocks are horrible."

Love this vehicle! With a locking tonneau of the back, it's like having a huge trunk and really helps the handling."

Ben N., SC (2017 Ford F-150)"Good acceleration, sturdy feel"
Anonymous, OH (2017 Ford F-150)"Incredible, low end torque is substantial, pulling away on hills, passing power is instantaneous power at the throttle. Pulling trailers in the mid range is almost invisible to engine response. Gas mileage suffers significantly when pulling but that is the single down side"

Anonymous, MA (2017 Ford F-150)"The 3.5 Ecoboost engine is very responsive. The acceleration is sporty, dare I say fun to use. The 10 speed transmission is very smooth when accelerating moderately or more; however, I have noticed some subtle sharpness when accelerating slowly (gradually) the last 3 months."
Anonymous, FL (2017 Ford F-150)"engine shutoff when stopped is annoying. I question whether it will lead to premature starter faulure. Acceleration is great!"

Anonymous, CO (2017 Ford F-150)"our F-150 is 2WD, has a 3:55 Locking differential the 3.5L twin turbo engine and 10-speed transmission. Hard acceleration will take your breath away. And, it does it as quietest vehicle we've ever had. Amazing. Just amazing. Handling is just fine for a "big" truck."
Kirby V., CA (2017 Ford F-150)"Turning radius improved over past models. Electric assisted steering not so good."
David F., MI (2017 Ford F-150)"Drives great, feels solid on the road, I had the 5.0L in my last F150 and was worried about the Ecoboost 2.7L power, but over all it is hard to tell the difference in normal everyday driving. The engine stop "feature" took a little getting used to but now is normal."
Raymond D., NY (2017 Ford F-150)"Very good acceleration with Eco boost engine.satisfied with gas mileage"

Anonymous, ID (2017 Ford F-150)"Smaller motor, but it has the power to pass when you have to get around a slower vehicle. Ten speed gives it good torque up long hills."
Russ M., MT (2017 Ford F-150)"it seems a little hesitant when going from sitting at a traffic light to accelerating in traffic, probably because the engine actually shuts off when not in park. it's a newer feature to conserve gas."
