What Owners Say
"Was at dealership 20 - 40 times for side camera not working properly and also affecting radio and phone. Finally after 8 months, Honda had engineers from Mitsubishi and Honda working on it and installed a software patch. So far, so good"
Anonymous, ON (2014 Honda Civic EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"In poor visibility, I drove up on a curb. The camera became dislodged/ Honda service repaired it without charge."
Barbara H., WA (2014 Honda Civic)"Somewhat small and MUCH too dark. Also, cannot be seen at all with polarized sunglasses."
Anonymous, OH (2014 Honda Civic Unsure 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Display screen is nearly impossible to see in daytime, makes it just about worthless. WORST problem is the false positive tire pressure alarms. After so many alarms, we now just reset, so worthless and annoying. Dealer says it is too sensitive, noth"
Anonymous, CA (2014 Honda Civic EX)"The electronic controls are too fussy and the screen is too hard to navigate. Tuning the radio while the car is in motion constitutes a death wish. Mechanically, the car is a gem. But the electronics have been over-engineered"
Anonymous, WA (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Display screen is hard to see when headlights are on"
Anonymous, OR (2014 Honda Civic LX)"Put the car in reverse and a number keypad came up instead of the backup camera. No instructions on what was happening. Pressed the back button and nothing happened. Pressed numbers and got a message that the Security system was disabled. Dealer"
Anonymous, TX (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"The Pandora interface has produced constant issues, causing the car's computer system to completely freeze, and sometimes the screen to go completely blank. This does not effect the mechanical safety or workings of the car, but does require you to pull off the road, turn off the car, and restart in order to restore function. Sometimes that does not do it, and you need to go to the dealer to have them reset the system"
Anonymous, CT (2014 Honda Civic LX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"There is a delay in the display for the right side camera of up to 3 seconds which makes changing lanes dangerous. The view is so bad on that side because of the car design and poor mirror I had an accident."
Anonymous, AZ (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"(1) Unable to hear system voice when radio is on (maybe doesn't even speak). (2) System very complicated. Even the dealership's expert couldn't figure it all out. (3) Learned that a fee of $100 or more is charged yearly to update GPS, so I just don't use it at all. It was an expensive feature to the car that I don't even use. (4) GPS does not specify street names to turn on, just says to turn ahead in so many yards or feet! Confusing!"
Anonymous, CA (2014 Honda Civic)"Won't allow me to press 'yes' when asked if I wish to pair a Smartphone with the car's bluetooth. Initially, all was fine but about a month ago, bluetooth didn't work. I tried connecting it again and got this problem"
Anonymous, SC (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Phone style/make would not stay paired with Bluetooth"
Anonymous, AZ (2014 Honda Civic LX)"Screens are confusing and require very precise hand and finger motions to control. Impossible to do while car is in motion"
Anonymous, WA (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Radio would change stations itself or turn itself off or not respond at all. This occurred if side camera was working OK"
Anonymous, ON (2014 Honda Civic EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"My unfamiliarity w/ electronic controls. I still can't find the radio station I want and get it to stay set and use it. I think everything in this car is difficult. I'm 83,and want to be able to push a button and have stuff work. All kinds of logos appear, I don't know what to do w/ them and it does too many things for my taste."
Shirley L., PA (2014 Honda Civic)"Cold weather seems to wreak havoc on radio tuning including -- receiving wrong station, receiving AM instead of FM"
Anonymous, MI (2014 Honda Civic LX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Could not remove ignition key. Part was out of stock. Still waiting for the part to come in"
Anonymous, (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
"If you never used a back-up camera before, objects can be much closer than appear on Camera. I wish car had a much more visable warning of this as I backed-up against a tree that dented the thin metal rear passenger corner panel on 1st day I had car"
