Luxury cars stand out from everyday sedans by virtue of their powerful engines or electric motors, power-everything leather seats, high-quality wood or metal trim, and vibrant digital displays.

But like mainstream sedans, a luxury model is not guaranteed to be a standout among its peers just by virtue of its badge.

    In this article Arrow link

Whether it’s poor reliability or subpar performance in our road tests, many luxury sedans don’t have the goods to be recommended by Consumer Reports. To find out which luxury cars are the best you can buy today, we compiled a list according to CR’s ratings.

    MORE ON CARS

Our Overall Score encompasses a vehicle’s performance in our road tests; the latest results from the reliability and owner satisfaction sections of CR’s exclusive Annual Auto Surveys; the availability of automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, AEB that works at highway speeds, blind spot warning (BSW), and rear cross traffic warning (RCTW); and results from government and insurance industry crash tests, if they’re available.

The sedans below are listed in order of their Overall Score and range from compact to full-sized models. Unless otherwise noted, each comes standard with AEB, BSW, and RCTW. Some of these models have our Green Choice designation, which highlights the vehicles with the cleanest emissions.
