2010 Toyota Sienna Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
Armed with a smooth and powerful V6 engine, as well as improved braking, this version of the Sienna was our top-rated minivan of its time. Because it was also the only one available with all-wheel drive, we tested both front- and AWD models. Our readers reported the AWD's run-flat tires wore quickly and were expensive to replace. A slightly stiffer ride and a loss of one mpg overall are other sacrifices for AWD.

"It runs really smooth and accelerates well."

PETER H., OH (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"This vehicle can plow through the worst snow drifts and snow plow remnants Ottawa has to offer. Love it!"

CHRISTINA Y., ON (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"A van is a van so handling is never great. I wish the 6 cyl in our 2010 Sienna was a little livlier."

MARY H., MD (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"The acceleration is fantastic and it rides like a dream and handles very well."

DEBRA B., NY (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"excellent all weather handling very good acceleration but frequent automatic transmission shifting"

Anonymous, KY (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"The transmission whines at 70 kph and the dealer has no idea what to do about it."

Anonymous, ON (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Van needed larger rims & tires. I think that Toyota upgraded on later years."

RICHARD B., NJ (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Very poor traction from front-wheel drive. Even in rain traction is lacking, and very poor in snow."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Handling with OE "T" rated tires was sloppy. Changing to America's Tire Co. Yokohama YK580 tires "H" rated gave good turn-in, feel, and cornering stability without sacrificing ride quality or quietness."

EUGENE T., CA (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Handling is average to above average, but it is, after all, a minivan."

Anonymous, OH (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"AWD in this vehicle has performed flawlessly in the worst types of weather."

Anonymous, OR (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"We love the van except for the road noise and wind noise. Also we find the indash GPS s;ystem too difficult to use."

"There is nothing we dislike about the Sienna. It's quiet, with comfortable driver & passenger seating and a smooth, controlled ride. We have driven it cross-country and on the rocky, "semi-improved" roads of Newfoundland without a hitch. Also, our previous 2010 Sienna was involved in a serious head-on collision and we both emerged without a scratch - the Sienna was totaled, as was the Jeep that ran a Stop sign and hit us. This is a great car. Smooth acceleration."

"Adequate handling with very good acceleration."

Anonymous, OH (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"The ride is very smooth and floaty over medium bumps and small road imperfections. A great ride all around."

Anonymous, FL (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Has plenty of pep on acceleration. never feels like it bogs down or ins't responsive. handles great for a minivan. Wish the mileage was better than the 19-22 we get consistently, but its comfortable ride and reliability offset the gas mileage."

Steve F., TX (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"I do a lot of interstate driving and am always pleased with the way my Sienna accelerates and handles."

Donna O., PA (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Even though front-wheel drive, vehicle slips even during rain, and has very little traction in snow and ice."

Anonymous, OK (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"I love this car except we have had wind noise from about 32000 miles on. We have had it in the shop about 10 times and we found out by googling what was wrong and told them. It fixes for about a year and then it starts again. It has to do with how the left wheel well was put together. We are going to get rid of this van due to this problem. We use this van to travel and every trip we have to listen to the noise any time 65 miles per hour or higher. Other than that, we love this car and wis..."

"Have driven for 6 years without any major issues. Main daily driver for family and have done 4 road trips over 2000 miles."

Anonymous, MN (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Mpg we get is what new vehicles like ours gets. We don't plan on replacing it because new ones like ours would cost $10,000 more. We have had no major problems with ours. Dealership is excellent and we get top notch service from them."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Toyota dealer and Toyota Corporate were very difficult to deal with when confronted about their inadequate navigation system. They were unwilling to provide any kind of remedy."

Marc D., IL (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Have not any major engine problems and have 147800 miles on the car."

Donna O., PA (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"The Toyota Sienna has been the Swiss Army knife of minivans for years. The sienna has room for up to 8 adults to sit comfortably, accelerates and handles like a sporty family sedan, and at 200,000 miles with zero maintenance failures other than routine parts such as brakes - remarkable value!"

Anonymous, WV (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"So very disappointed in my 2010 AWD Limited Sienna. At only 92,000 miles, the transmission was replaced. This after multiple repairs, more than $1,000 each, to both sliding doors. The exhaust system is also much more rusted than I'd expect at this mileage,."

Daniel K., CA (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Well we bought the XLE so it was expensive. But I would buy another minivan when it needs to be replaced."

Anonymous, FL (2010 Toyota Sienna)

Anonymous, NC (2010 Toyota Sienna)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Nice interior and exterior. Transmission went out with less than 40,000 miles. Navigation, back up camera, radio, CD player went out after car battery died. Toyota wanted $3000 to replace it. I still haven't paid for repairs. Too costly."

Anonymous, CA (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"Not as stylish as its Honda counterpart."

Anonymous, CT (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"This 2010 style of car has smother lines and have less boxy look, 2011 moved to box car look."

KERRY L., SC (2010 Toyota Sienna)

"My older teen kids HATE mini-vans since they are so UN-COOL! They have nicknamed it Mom's Swagger-Wagon:) However, we are a very tall family with all members being 5'10 to 6'6" tall. When we are riding together as a family, there is nothing else that gives the comfort and space that a mini-van does. So, it's a love-hate relationship for them. I, on the other hand, do not define myself by the car I drive. I LOVE my Swagger-Wagon:)"
