The Toyota Sienna affords a comfortable ride and a smooth, energetic powertrain returning respectable fuel economy. Expect 20 mpg overall from the front-wheel-drive version. If you need an all-wheel-drive minivan in this model year, Sienna is your only choice. Be apprised however, those four-driven wheels sacrifice one mpg and dictate run-flat tires.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Acceleration is very good with the V-6 engine and gets good gas mileage considering the vehicle weight."

Anonymous, WI (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Never had a van before and I really like it. Best things are power and the AC. Worst is road/wind noise."

WILLIAM M., DE (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Turning radius"

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Plenty of power, great visual all around..Seating arrangement is good, although for 8 would be very crowded..There is some tire noise, may be to type of tire when purchased..(Michelin)...Very satisfied.with the vehicle"

JOHN B., AZ (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The "magic carpet" ride you mentioned is just that ...... acceleration is fine except that occasionally at the wrong RPM in some gear, not much happens ......... handling is not so great; ponderous w/ understeer, but the electric steering is worse yet, and provides no road feel whatsoever. Additionally, the beltline or something is too high for me: I can't ever pull straight into a parking space any longer (after decades of carefully parking). My vehicle is always off to one side or the other"

DAVID H., CA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Handling is not as good as my 2009 sienna which has excellent handling."

Anonymous, OH (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"This is a VMI conversion handicap accessible van. The suspension is jacked up because of the conversion and the vehicle is a bit unstable, especially when cornering at speed. This vehicle also has a intermittent braking problem that the dealer cannot figure out. Once in a while it feels like the brakes go from power brakes to non power brakes and you suddenly have to brake much harder than usual to stop the vehicle."

Anonymous, MO (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The run-flat tires were flawed/unsafe and required replacement. Extreme vibration due to failed cords in tire walls."

Anonymous, IL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Good handling and acceleration for size of vehicle."

Anonymous, MD (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"6 speed transmission is much smoother and more responsive than the old version was"

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Road grip on wet surfaces going up hill from a stop is very poor. Need to make sure there is a lot of distance with on coming traffic to ensure a safe merge with traffic because weight of van causes tires to not grip the road."

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"When going down hill, there is absolutely no compression which is hard on pads and rotors, not to mention the proper function of the cruise control (gains speed)"

Anonymous, WA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"much better turn radius than other minivans I have owned"

Anonymous, FL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Very nice to drive"

G M., CA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Very impressive acceleration. Handles great."

DAVID H., IL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The run flat tires make too much noise."

EDWARD G., VA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Better than expected."

D S., IL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Driver's seat is slightly uncomfortable due to seat being too narrow."

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Road noise drowns out radio unless you have it at a very high volume. Would have expected a quieter cabin."

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Noise is an issue. Rattle in the dash and outside noises."

GEORGE G., NC (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The front seats are not as comfortable as the 2005 seats in the previous Sienna. Road noise is way too loud. There is good leg room in the back seats and good head room everywhere."

SSJ E., TX (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Seats are very comfortable when driving long distances. Road noise is minimal."

LARRY B., OH (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Ride is very smooth. Like you're riding on rails."

STEPHEN B., NJ (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Loud wind noise. You have to steer - no relaxing"

Anonymous, MA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The most comfortable seating I've been in!"

RIC M., SC (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"the third row seating is a bit difficult to take down and put back up for someone my age."

PATRICK C., MN (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Road noise is louder than I experienced with my previous Honda Odyessey"

GARY W., TN (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The Sienna is a great long distance cruiser with comfortable seats and low noise levels. The climate control system is not the best, as it does not always maintain the temperature indicated on the display. The ENTUNE radio controls are TERRIBLE, requiring too much "eyes off the road" time to select stations or change functions. These controls should not be on a touch screen that requires the selection of multiple levels of buttons to select a station. Buttons should have tactile feedback tha"

DOUGLAS M., NY (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Foldable/movable armrests are too small on bucket seats. Ride is comfortable, but could be smoother."

DAVID H., IL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Seats for long drive"

HOSSEN N., NJ (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"As I stated before... A little less plastic... Easier operations of tge electronics"

WILLIAM F., SC (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Very smooth ride. Comfortable cloth seats. Versatile climate control."

Anonymous, MD (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Far worse than the Odyssey I had before. Limited cargo space available when center seats removed because of protruding sharp seat rails. Indicated that I required center cargo room but was not told this was a problem. Main reason I hate the car."

Anonymous, OR (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"We prefer the bench seats vs the Captains Chairs because of the ease of putting in the safety car seats for the children. The "jump" seat provided between the Captains Chairs looks and feels like a suicide seat to us. We would never put a child or dog in it and yet it is too small for an adult. It is dangerous and useless."

Anonymous, CO (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"cabin noise is too high. seats in middle difficult to remove and reinstall."

J W., IL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"For a tall drive like myself, more adjustment of the steering wheel is required. The noise level is a little high."

Anonymous, CA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Does not have dual driver memory for seat and mirrors."

JOHN H., MN (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Climate control is great. Front, back, passenger all have their own control."

Anonymous, CA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Overall comfort is very good. Road noise is a little on the high side at times. Seats are very comfortable. Only down side is the driver's side seat trim has a tendency to split at the front left joint. Bad design and/or materials"

Anonymous, OH (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Automatic setting works well - no separate adjustments needed once temperature is selected."

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The Sienna has more than it should of road noise. The car itself is fine, it just is'nt well insulated from outside noise. The passenger seat doesn't have a height adjustment and that affects leg comfort."

Anonymous, CA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"This is a family car and is well-suited to carrying around grandchildren and passengers as well as a transport vehicle for my wife's show dogs"

CHARLES J., CA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The Sienna is priced competitively and the comfort, performance, and reliability are exceptional."

DOUGLAS M., NY (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Did not want a sun/moon roof but had to accept one. At least one favorite feature of our 2006 Sienna had been dropped (rear vents controlled from drivers' position)."

JAMES G., PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The LE model includes much equipment considering this is a lower level model - all equipment works very well."

Anonymous, WI (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"We were able to get all of the bells & whistles with our Sienna as opposed to the Honda mini van and saved thousands of dollars. We are extremely happy with our Toyota Sienna vans & will continue to buy them. Toyota is a fantastic company!!"

ERNIE D., TX (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"i got a very useful suv for a good price"

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Well designed, comfortable, plenty of space"

ROBERT L., NJ (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Should get far better mpg (20mpg overall) but my 2000 Voyager got 22mpg so not thrilled to get less. Handles well, feel safe with it. Big enough to carry grandkids (some)."

CARLETON L., OR (2014 Toyota Sienna)

RICHARD F., WA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"When reliability is considered, it's the best value in minivans."

LEONARD L., NY (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Lots of plastic , car Looks and feel cheaply made. You don't get what you paid for."

WESLEY S., HI (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"2014 is not as well built as the 2007. Toyota has clearly cheapened some features."

Anonymous, MA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"Comfortable ride ,roomy great for long trips some road noise radio controls are too technical"

JAMES C., ID (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"I expected much better reliability from Toyota. In less than 36k miles, we have needed repairs on the following: air conditioning (evaporator coil cut itself on an untrimmed plastic edge in the plenum), radio/nav headunit (stopped syncing via bluetooth for unknown reasons), and drivers side power sliding door (intermittently reaches 6 inches from closing and autoreverses.)"

DAVE R., WI (2014 Toyota Sienna)

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Overall exterior appearance--looks bland."

Anonymous, PA (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"The plastic side panels look very cheap for a $30,000+ car. The plastic seat bases have cracked and are falling off."

Anonymous, IL (2014 Toyota Sienna)

"It looks the best out of all the vans available"
