"Stabilizer link bushings were worn and noisy"
Anonymous, ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Front end passenger side strut failed at 60k. Caused serious rattles. My mechanic replaced strut and problem solved. His opinion is that "these fail all the time". Cheap to fix. Part $50 install $50"
Dave B., ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta S 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"On a visit to the mechanic for oil change and general check, learned the shocks were worn out and needed to be replaced before driving 400 miles from Minneapolis to Chicago. Were in a condition that was dangerous. Were replaced & no problems since."
Anonymous, IL (2014 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Has a tendency to wear out front end struts. Cheap to fix but annoying. No alignment necessary."
Dave B., ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta S 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Needed the front spring on drivers side replaced twice. Third spring continued to bind for a few weeks after replacement and then appears to have corrected itself"
Anonymous, ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta S 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Rear coil spring broke at 50000 miles"
Anonymous, NY (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Jetta has had two coil spring failures since owning. First one about two years ago, second one last fall. Contacted VW and they paid for the second one. Did not advise VW of America of first failure as I expected the Dealership to do that. I'm not sure if they did. The first incident I was not sure if it was related to road hazard. The second incident I was standing next to parked car when I heard the spring fail."
Anonymous, ME (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Right rear coil spring broke"
Anonymous, PA (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Replaced 2 front springs at 56000 miles and then one rear spring 5000 miles later"
Anonymous, NY (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Replaced front sway bars and linkages due to normal wear."
David K., NH (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"sway bar arm connecting to lower link failed"
Anonymous, ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta S 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"1 rear spring broke, both replace at my cost. Now suspect one in front is also broken."
Marc Y., NY (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Spring broke and was told torsion bar rubbers were worn out at about 62000 kms."
Linda Q., ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"balance off probably due to potholes"
Anonymous, NS (2014 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"wheel bearing went bad and had to be replaced"
Anonymous, MA (2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl turbo)"The front driver side bearing began going bad around 70k-75k miles, as I would hear a loud whirring noise, especially as speeds increased and I turned the wheels in that direction (left). Was replaced by the dealer and has been fine since, however I am beginning to hear the same noise coming from the front passenger side wheel and I'm sure that will need replacing at the next service interval (105k-110k miles)."
Bradley B., NJ (2014 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"front passenger side under warranty"
Anonymous, ON (2014 Volkswagen Jetta S 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
