Tech

Apple AirPods 4

While Apple claims the AirPods 4 are improved over the AirPods 3, our testers were less impressed. They’re still solid headphones if you prefer not to have eartips stuck in your ear. The fit, despite Apple’s tweaks, is pretty much the same as previous models, as is the sound. These headphones were $15 less for Black Friday and may be cheaper for Prime Day, but this is still a nice price if you can’t wait.

This wireless model from JBL delivers acceptable sound quality and top-notch active noise reduction. These earphones have an isolating design and an ambient sound monitoring feature; they will provide some muffling and electronic canceling of external noises and also reduce the amount of sound that escapes from the earpieces. As such, they are best for those who want highly portable earphones that reduce the amount of noise they hear from their surroundings, or don’t want the sound from the earpieces to disturb others.

Cookware

The ceramic-coated nonstick Our Place Perfect Pot is a popular Dutch oven, and it’s a top performer in our lab tests where we bake bread, simmer sauces, clean, and evaluate how quickly and evenly each Dutch oven heats. The one area where this pot scores less well is handle temperature, so you’ll want to keep a potholder handy if you choose this model. Overall, it’s an attractive and versatile piece of cookware for your kitchen, and you can get it now for 40 percent off.

This cost-conscious 11-piece stainless steel cookware set from The Cellar is at the lowest price we’ve ever seen, as it’s a final sale item. It includes two frying pans, two saucepans, a sauté pan, a stockpot, a silicone trivet, and four lids. The set, a Macy’s exclusive, aces our tests for cooking evenness, speed of heating, and food release. It’s also easy to clean, earning an excellent score. The handles stay safe and cool, but they aren’t so sturdy, earning a mediocre rating for that test.

A full cookware set for less than $100 is a steal already, but it’s especially so when it’s as impressive a performer as the Blue Diamond Classic Diamond-Infused Ceramic nonstick cookware set. It comes with two frying pans, a saucepan, a sauté pan, a stockpot, and two cooking utensils. It’s advertised as oven-safe to 850° F and dishwasher-safe, though manufacturers tend to say hand-washing helps nonstick cookware last longer. It performs well in all of our cookware tests except for handle sturdiness, where less-expensive cookware generally falls short.

The celebrity-chef-named GreenPan Bobby Flay Chef Series Uncoated Stainless Steel 10" and 12" set is a top scorer in our stainless steel frying pan ratings, earning impressive scores across all of our tests. And at its sale price, you’re getting a great deal, especially since there are two. The pan itself is oven-safe to 600° F (the lid is oven-safe to 425° F), it’s dishwasher-safe, and induction-cooktop compatible. Its handle temperature while cooking isn’t the best, though, so you might want to keep a potholder handy just in case.

If you’re looking to seriously upgrade your frying pan, consider the Hestan ProBond Professional Clad. It’s dishwasher-safe, oven-safe to 600° F, and has a lifetime warranty. It earns impressive scores all around in our tests for cooking evenness, handle temperature, handle sturdiness, and ease of cleaning (the latter being a concern among many who are new to cooking in stainless steel). However, this pan is on the small side, with a diameter of just 8.5 inches.

Coffee Makers

Cuisinart makes several top-performing drip coffee makers in Consumer Reports’ ratings, including the Cuisinart PerfecTemp 14 Cup Programmable DCC-3200. It impressed our testers in our brew performance tests, meaning you can expect a great-tasting cup (as long as your beans are fresh). It’s also simple to clean and convenient to use, and the carafes are easy to hold and pour from. We haven’t seen a deal this good since last holiday season.

The Hamilton Beach Advanced 5-in-1 (49965F) dual coffee maker makes both drip coffee and pod coffee. It receives a top score in our drip coffee brew performance tests, which means you’re likely to get a full pot that tastes great. It comes with brew-strength controls and a small-batch setting, and it’s generally easy to use. It does a little less well when it comes to its pod coffee capabilities. While it makes a quick first cup, subsequent cups may not be served up as quickly as you’d expect. Especially if getting the best flavor in a drip brew is your priority, this model at this price is worth considering.

The Cuisinart Premium Single-Serve Brewer SS-10 is easy to use, refill, and clean, based on evaluations in our labs. Plus, from cup to cup, you can expect the volume and temperature to be consistent, which isn’t always the case with this type of machine. This Cuisinart model also packs a ton of features, including an auto-shutoff function, a removable water reservoir, a built-in water filter, a height-adjustable drip tray, and programmability. While this Prime Day deal is great, we’ve seen this coffee maker for less in the past few months.

Kitchen

CR’s engineers find that the Rubbermaid Brilliance 18pc Glass Food Storage Container Set of nine lidded glass containers performs admirably in our tests for durability, seal quality, and ease of use. (The pieces range in size from three snack-appropriate 10-ounce boxes to a 64-ounce pack for lots of leftovers.) The rubber gaskets aren’t removable, though, so it may be a little tougher to clean than other sets. However, the containers are dishwasher-safe, freezer-safe, microwave-safe, and oven-safe (not including the lid). And we haven’t seen this set priced this low since last holiday season.

Of all the toaster ovens in CR’s tests, the Hamilton Beach 31156 performs better at our toasting tests than many, plus it does a solid job at baking. The only area where it delivers a so-so performance is in reheating. It does have a novel design: a bread slot for toasting, like you’d find on a dedicated toaster, with a low oven cavity underneath. This simple model is best suited for people who would use the oven in a limited capacity. At less than $100 on sale, it’s a steal, especially for toast lovers.

The Instant Vortex 4 Plus Air Fryer 4QT is a standout for the legibility of its digital controls, relatively low noise levels, and ease of cleaning. What’s more, its square basket design makes it easy to fit in a small Pyrex dish or baking pan—great for turning out sweet treats. The measured 3-quart model has a 1-year warranty. It’s $5 less than its recent sale price.

Cuisinart ICE-21P Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, & Sorbet Maker

Cuisinart ICE-21P Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, & Sorbet Maker

If you’re interested in making your own ice cream at home, this could be a great lower-cost option. We really liked the consistent, creamy texture of the sorbet and ice cream that came out of the Cuisinart. This was true both immediately after production and after we froze them overnight. The sorbet was a bit icier and less perfectly consistent than that made by the other ice cream makers we tried. But that was easily remedied by dragging a spatula around the sorbet to smooth out some of the ice midchurn.

The Meater+ meat thermometer is one of the most reliable digital thermometers. It’s easy to use, and given its top-notch accuracy, you won’t need guesswork to determine the doneness of brisket and other fleshy delights. It’s shaped like a thick ink pen with dual sensors—one for internal temperature and one for ambient temperature—and its size makes it better suited to girthier cuts. The Meater+ transmits temperature readings wirelessly to the companion smartphone app.

The GE G8H1AASSPSS Blender is an immersion model that comes with a whisk and chopper, and it’s available now at a sweet price. It showed excellent performance in our soup purée tests, and the chopper attachment did a great job grating cheese. The whisk attachment allows you to quickly whip egg whites to stiff peaks and easily turn heavy cream into rich whipped cream.

The large Cuisinart AIR-200 has a window and a light so you can see your food cooking, and its large six-quart capacity means there’s enough room to cook for a crowd or to air fry an entire meal. Touchscreen controls come with five cooking pre-sets, including one for frozen snacks and one for leftovers, and a toss reminder alerts you when it’s time to flip your food. The AIR-200 also comes with a generous three-year warranty.

Air Care

If you’re looking for an air purifier for a small room, the Blueair Mini Restful might fit the bill. It’s t the lowest price we’ve ever seen. The Mini Restful earns the CR Recommended designation because it performed very well in our tests. Running at high speeds, it aced the dust, pollen, and smoke removal tests, and did nearly as well operating at low speeds. It gets a middling score for noise output at high speed, which is common across every model, but it’s actually pretty quiet at low speed, making it a great option for all-day use in, say, a home office.

Sleep

The Tuft & Needle Original Foam Pillow is made of polyurethane foam and comes with a micro-polyamide and polyester cover. Despite this composition, testers found that the pillow excels in breathability. It is a great choice for side sleepers, but less ideal for back sleepers, according to our lab tests. Expect its firmness, height, and support to remain consistent with use.

The Coop Sleep Goods Original Adjustable Pillow is filled with shredded memory foam and comes with extra fill, allowing sleepers to customize the pillow’s loft and feel. In our testing, it provided support across a range of body types and sleep positions, while maintaining its shape over time. The pillow is also designed to promote airflow, making it a noteworthy Prime Day option for shoppers looking for a more customizable alternative to traditional foam pillows.

Despite the "cooling" in its name, this Nectar pillow doesn’t actually have cooling properties. Still, it’s one of the most breathable pillows we’ve evaluated and our tests show that it doesn’t retain warmth. This polyurethane foam and polyester pillow is also quite resilient and excels at offering support for side sleepers. Back sleepers, however, would be better served by the Coop Original.

Side and back sleepers will find the GhostBed pillow quite dreamy. It’s made of shredded memory foam pieces with a polyester fiber cover and can be customized to your level of support by removing some of the shredded foam pieces and polyester gel fibers. Our tests found that sleepers of all sizes and positions can get some degree of improved support by removing various amounts of filling. This adjustable pillow, which comes in a pack of two, earns just middling marks in our resilience test but aces our breathability test.

The Lucid 3" Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress Topper is made with ventilated memory foam infused with cooling gel. Designed to add an extra layer of cushioning to an existing mattress, it features a plush feel and a breathable construction intended to help improve airflow. We tested the 4-inch model but expect this to perform similarly. For Prime Day shoppers looking for a relatively low-cost mattress upgrade, it’s one of the less expensive options available.

Home

The Luxe Bidet Neo 320 features a dual-nozzle design for thorough cleansing. It also offers heated water, provided your bathroom’s layout allows for connection to a hot water line via the included hose. For those short on time, the Neo 320 Plus comes conveniently preassembled, and you don’t have to fully remove the toilet seat to install it. This model also flips up on hinges, making it easier to clean the toilet bowl and surrounding area. But you can’t adjust the angle of the spray nozzle, as you can with some models. It’s now selling close to the lowest price we’ve seen this year.

Health

Nektek Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager

Nektek Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager

This massager, made famous on TikTok, falls in the middle of the pack in terms of pricing, compared with the other models we evaluated. The reviewer found the nodes pressed into their neck uncomfortably, but two others who tried it loved it, so you might find the massager is just right or not right at all (but don’t worry—there’s a 30-day return window on Amazon). However, when it came to heat, this massager really shone. It reaches temperatures of 109° F. You can use this massager on various body parts, and it even comes with a car adapter, making it a boon for road trips.

Ice Baths

Pod Company Pro IcePod 2.0

Pod Company Pro IcePod 2.0

This portable ice bath from Pod Company is now $20 less than I’ve ever seen, making it an even better deal than usual. It’s a great option if you’re thinking of investing in something like this to keep at home. In our evaluations, it was easy to set up and take apart. It is smaller than the comparable Cold Pod XL (which costs a bit more), but otherwise, the two are very similar. So it may be better suited for smaller individuals. For example, one of our evaluators was around 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds and found this one to be a bit cramped compared to the other model. That said, if you don’t mind close quarters and like the price to test out ice baths at home, this could be just what you’re looking for.

Pets

Costway Petsite 3 in 1 Pet Stroller

Costway Petsite 3 in 1 Pet Stroller

The PetSite 3-in-1 is multifunctional, easy to assemble and fold, lightweight, and sturdy—and it’s at the lowest price we’ve seen. It’s also really versatile for travel. It serves as both a car seat and portable carrier, complete with a carrying strap. It has a maximum capacity of 33 pounds, so you could potentially fit two small animals, and the mesh top makes it easy to keep an eye on them. Our evaluator reported that it was easy to assemble, and the stroller moved easily, even on bumpier surfaces.

Outdoor

Simple Modern XL Getaway Bag

Simple Modern XL Getaway Bag

This bag, now $10 less than it has been, fits five beach towels, one water bottle, two bottles of sunscreen, a hardcover book, four small packs of pretzels, and sunglasses. The Simple Modern beach bag is made of soft EVA material and has the thickest hand straps of all the bags we tested. The handles folded backward and forward easily and never got twisted.

Hair Tools

Hot Tools Pro Artist Black Gold Evolve Ionic Salon Hair Flat Iron

Hot Tools Pro Artist Black Gold Evolve Ionic Salon Hair Flat Iron

Hot Tools hair styling tools are a common sight at hair salons, and for good reason—and this one just dropped $20 to boot. Our evaluators found that this flat iron heated up fast and was easy to use. It has variable heat settings to give users more control, and the plates are slightly longer than most straighteners, a feature that could be useful for styling longer hair. It’s important to note that the temperature consistency isn’t reliable and could vary by as much as 20 degrees from the set temperature during use. It has a 2-hour window before it automatically shuts off, so you’ll want to remember to unplug it after every use.

Floor Care

The Dirt Devil Compact Portable Spot Cleaner is a light little carpet cleaner at just 9 pounds with a full tank of solution. Amazon’s price matches the the best we’ve seen. While the portable cleaners in our tests don’t measure up to full-sized machines in terms of their cleaning abilities, this model did well, especially when it comes to drying. It’s also one of the quieter models we tested. The tank isn’t huge (partly why the cleaner is so light), but if you’re just using it for spills and spot-cleaning, this model will do the trick.

The GorFanty 10-in-1 MultiPurpose, which typically retails for $100, has hit an all-time low price for Prime Day. It is an excellent cleaner with a decent steam rate. It takes only 20 seconds for the steam mop to produce steam, and its steam can last for around 10 minutes on its maximum setting. We like that you can adjust the length of the mop to accommodate people of different heights. The mop comes with plenty of accessories, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, windows, and carpets.

Luggage

This is a nice discount on the Samsonite Freeform Carry-on Spinner, another great hardshell performer from our tests. The Samsonite has four wheels, two handles, and comes in more than 10 different colors, so you can choose a color that suits you. It comes with a 10-year limited warranty.
