All-in-one car seats, by contrast, are weightier and bulkier and don’t come with a detachable carrier, so you can’t move them from car to stroller frame. If you already use an infant car seat in another vehicle or don’t think you’d need this extra portability, an all-in-one car seat may be right for you from day one. All-in-one car seats “are a great option for a second car, or to keep with grandparents,” Bloch says. They can also serve as a great second seat after your child outgrows their infant seat.
• How big your car is: Take note of the dimensions of any all-in-one car seats you’re considering.
