Cadillac Vistiq SUVs Recalled to Fix Third-Row Seat Safety Issue

To fix the problem, Cadillac dealerships will replace the third-row seat folding module with one that automatically returns the seat to the upright position if it detects an object in the way. Until this part is available, dealerships will disable the third-row folding feature on Vistiq vehicles currently on sale at dealerships, and for consumers who wish to have an interim safety measure in place. As with all recalls, this fix is free of charge.

Engineers at Cadillac discovered the problem during internal tests conducted after the Hyundai Palisade recall, which came about after the death of a child. According to documents that Cadillac shared with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there have been six customer complaints about this issue, and no injuries.
