What Owners Say
"Unreliable initial connection. Requires disconnections and reconnection seems or at worst, turning of ignition and restarting to get Android And to to come up."
Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The infotainment syste is very hard to use, and Apple Carplay simply does not work most of the time"
Anonymous, MA (2017 Honda Accord 3.5-L V6)"Trouble pairing with device for navigation"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord LX 3.5-L V6)"It changes what's playing on the radio when the phone is plugged in."
Ed N., GA (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Many times Apple Carplay will stop working. I have disconnected and reconnected, used a different cable, used my husbands phone, shut phone off and on. Then all of a sudden it will connect. The car has a two screen display. The top display will not always display the next song or provide the blue arrows when using the Honda built in GPS."
Anonymous, TX (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Sometimes while I have my iPone connected via usb to the infotainment system, I'm unable to change the volume level."
Anonymous, NY (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Driving Hazard!! The touch screens positioning and occasional lack of touch sensitivity is a danger to the operator. Analog would be better as much as could be done or hybrid system!"
Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"My problems started within weeks after purchasing my car. I was not able to connect nor load any of my phone information into the infotainment system. The system would freeze both audiblyAnd visually. The touch screen stopped working. They replaced the infotainment system but that did not correct any of the problems. Apple says Honda needed to update their firmware and Honda too bad Since the original manufactured entertainment system had been replaced it was now a voided issue. The fact that Honda themselves replace see him for TAEMIN system has no bearing on the results. It was not done by third-party business. My car is still 100% Honda parts. I asked if I could upgrade the infotainment system and I would split the difference of the cost for the new system. Honda said there is no upgrade system for this car model Honda 2017 hybrid. At this time I have no navigation, I have no contacts from my phone, so it cannot recognize voice recognition to call anyone hands-free. It's Bluetooth connection still disconnects and reconnects frequently. It also changes modes of operation at the start of the car. It does not recognize my iPhone 11 as an accessory because Honda will not update the firmware. Honda America has informed me that 1% of the Honda accord hybrid 2017 have this problem and there is no recourse for correction."
Anonymous, (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"About 3 mos after I bought the car, the dashboard camera screen no longer showed video of what was behind the car. The dashboard camera screen only showed the red gridlines that normally are superimposed on the video."
Anonymous, OH (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The screen is black except for the red gridlines."
Anonymous, (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"no problem experienced"
Anonymous, (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Back up camera just got fuzzy honda fixed it under warranty after dealer checked it out quickly"
Anonymous, OH (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"All of the warning accessories would not go off and had to be reprogramed"
Anonymous, CT (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"It's not a performance problem but one of satisfaction. My 2005Honda Accord had space for 6 CD's. This has only one. When I asked about why this was done I was told that it is because people don't play CD's but stream entertainment. Well, I don't. I listen to books on tape and trying to change CD's while driving is dangerous and causes me great consternation. I am a part of the growing senior demographic and it seems to me that Honda and other car manufacturers would want to cater to or at least accommodate us."
Anonymous, MD (2017 Honda Accord EX 3.5-L V6)"CD player over heats and shuts down on hot days"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Display would freeze. restart of the car would solve it. Took into dealer and they reset and reflashed the firmware. Has been fine since"
Anonymous, MN (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"This occurred on a few occasions. It would come an go, and the dealer did not cover under warrangy"
Dave S., VA (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"I think the problem was partially due to overheated electronics; the display did malfunction on a hot sunny day. I started up my car and opened all the windows to allow the hot air escape. Then I noticed the display screens went from blank, to the diagnostic screen and it wouldn't go back to normal. After driving around with the A/C on and stopping to do errands, the system went back to normal on its own."
Marvin B., NY (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"I have been driving down the road and the screen will completely go blank until I stop the car and then start it again."
Anonymous, SC (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The screen goes blank for just a moment or 2 and it only happens on an irregular basis. The dealership has been unable to locate and fix the problem."
James R., CO (2017 Honda Accord LX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Would shut down very occasionally"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"The top screen goes blank (black), and when it happens all the entertainment buttons on the steering wheel become useless, this happened after a month of driving, I just gotta kill the engine and restart the car and it's on again, and it happens so randomly too"
Fouad B., IA (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"ipod shuffle will not work in the accord, but does work in the CRV. Might be a software update needed on the ipod."
Thomas S., FL (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"I was unable to play my iPod after several months of successful performance. There seems to be a problem with the car interface."
Anonymous, VA (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"From almost new, the unit seemed slow, it would not initialize normally. Then after about a year, it started given random errors and would get "lost" when starting out. It would usually recover. Then it started to give the error "cannot unlock maps" The dealership undertook an upgrade to the software, but it did not fix the problem. After consulting with corporate service dept, they decided that the problem was the hardware. Replacement of the device solved the problem and it functions normally now. This is obviously a rare problem which had not been experienced at corporate level. Probably came from the device manufacture."
Anonymous, PA (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"The screen went blank and the whole unit had to be replaced under warranty"
Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"The navigation system is pretty much useless. Nearly 50% of the time, the nav system has my location completely wrong. It has been wrong up to a 1/2 mile off and for up to 30 minutes before correcting the position. Additionally, the traffic information when compared to Google Maps and actual conditions seems about 15-minutes behind current condition. A complete waste of money for sure!"
Jesse-Amber M., CA (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Worst NAV system I’ve ever owed! Can not connect to GPS atellites for long periods of time. Traffic indicator also does not work for long periods of time. And yes there is a raffia sing along in the areas when it dies not connect."
Anonymous, VA (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"The software is not current The compos is not accurate"
Anonymous, PA (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"GPS,. still finds roads 200 ft further that it says. My Accord 2011 GPS was much better."
Marvin S., NJ (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"The Garmin-based in-dash navigation system will often lose its place and show the vehicle at a location other than the current road -- often at the start of a trip. It spent two days at the dealership, and I was told it's a known issue due to the navigation being a third-party system from Garmin. To date, no software updates are available to correct the problem."
Anonymous, CO (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"GPS vehicle icon on the screen periodically does not show the correct location of my vehicle on the correct street."
Randy H., NC (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"GPS would intermittently not load maps. Dealer did factory reset, resolved."
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"October 2019 -- GPS froze or would not start"
Anonymous, TX (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"The GPS determined position is often up to a quarter mile off effectively rendering the GPS system useless. Traffic information is about 15-20 minutes old leading to poor nav guidance."
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The compass read wrong-i.e. North became South; East became west; after approximately 5 Kms the compass reset itself. The screen went black and I had to restart the car to reboot the system; although Honda dealer attempted updates, the system would not take them. Eventually, Honda agreed to replace the whole system"
Anonymous, ON (2017 Honda Accord Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"At random times, but more frequently, it gets lost, usually thinking it is going at right angles to its actual direction. This happens more frequently in some locations than others. Also on two occasions, it simply hasn't turned on at all. It seems unlikely that I will be able to get it fixed until it fails reliably"
William J., CA (2017 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. The screen interface has issues like it’s confused. The Bluetooth will connect then disconnect and then connect again or maybe disconnect. The touch screen does not respond to touch. The delay between touch and response can be up to 5-6-7 seconds. When I turn the car on with the Bluetooth Connected mode sometimes it will pick up my audiobook other times it’ll pick up my music. It’s a tossup what it will connect with. Then if it’s playing it will go into a pause mode on its own. When I try to push play it will play for three seconds or four and then go back to pause on its own. The screen will show no device connected but I will be listening to my audiobook. The screen will say mute while I’m talking on the phone with voices coming through the speaker system. Then it happens that my GPS will give directional instructions while my audiobook is playing. Honda service tells me it is a poor program and that it probably needs an update. But they don’t know when there will be updates or if there are updates. Because they informed me that Honda doesn’t inform them of future updates. At first they told me it was my iPhone so I updated my SIM card Then they said it was my iPhone connectivity but my phone works in other cars. I have submitted a request for an update to Honda but have yet to hear from them."
Charlene V., CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"After 4-5 hours of continuous driving the sound system begins a rhythmic snap when the phone is used through the Bluetooth system. No dealer is able to diagnos the cause."
Anonymous, PA (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Phone pairing stopped working and other error messages affecting the electronics. Dealer able fix after consulting central Honda experts. Had to delete and reload all the electronic software."
Stephen T., TX (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"My phone says it is connected but the car says not"
Anonymous, OH (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Awkward electronic controls... would prefer buttons. When car is first started, sound volume is often too loud. Touch and drag controls are awkward."
Anonymous, TN (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Bad reception after having the car ?? n theshop for something else"
Anonymous, PA (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The FM receiver just quit working and shortly thereafter the battery mysteriously started losing its charge, put in a new battery and it was draining. Finally got the car in to get the radio looked at and was told there's nothing wrong and suddenly the radio was working again and no battery issue...hmmm."
Chris F., MN (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The audio system (is that Radio or speakers?) went out. One day in the middle of driving the sound just stopped. The Radio display still told me the station was connected (I saw what song was currently playing on multiple channels), but no sound came out. They had to completely replace the audio device. It took them 6 working days to get the part in. They had my car the whole time but gave me a loaner."
Anonymous, IL (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"No knobs, so radio volume is unpredictable at engine start. Volume control awkward. Menu screen for radio channels is not completely selectable. When Apple Car Play is in navigation mode, a voice steering command changes the audio source to the CarPlay vice radio. Very irritating. Scren difficult to view in sunlight."
Jeffrey H., TN (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"no problem"
Anonymous, (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Fuel system need to be updates per Honda recall"
Anonymous, NY (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"For a car of this quality, and as advance as the technology is with the connectivity this is not only poor but definitely substance. I can’t believe that Honda has not done any updates to fix the issues of connectivity."
Charlene V., CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"The problem started several weeks after I purchased my car. I am still having the same problem 3 1/2 years later. Honda will not do a firmware update. Apple has informed me that the problem is due to Honda needing to update its firmware. Oh I believe I am a victim of pointing fingers problem, it's the other person's fault."
Anonymous, (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Same as the radio comment."
Anonymous, IL (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"It was a sound issue that emulated a fractured speaker cone, heavy vibration type sound. It turned out to be the construction of the entire rear deck and a lack of vibration isolation kind of thing. They fixed it, there is a service bulletin out for it...sounds good now for a factory system."

Anonymous, AL (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Bluetooth voice commands do not work"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord LX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Unreliable. Misinterprets commands. Once Android Auto connects, Google is far superior."
Anonymous, NJ (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"My cell phone voice command system doesn't work properly in the Honda. I have taken it to dealer 2X and they had a problem too. And even rarely when it does work instead of reaching my wife, the phone calls the pizza store. (However, I love the reliability. Car ignition ALWAYS starts.)"
Leo-Ktah S., NY (2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The Voice control worked properly when I got the car, but it later stopped working. The Honda dealer reset the software to its factory setting and claimed it was fixed, but it still does not work. Otherwise the car is simply superb."
Anonymous, FL (2017 Honda Accord)"System appears to not hear my commands occasionally"
Jonathan H., FL (2017 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Voice command doesn't pick up what you say. Forces you to look at the screen more than my other Honda to pick the correct response thus taking my eyes off the road."
Anonymous, NH (2017 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
"Android Auto does not consistently link to the entertainment system. Sometimes requires repeated connection or at worst rebooting by turning off ignition. (Thanks for the recent hint about rebooting more easily)"
