Road Test

The RAV4 is quite competitive in its class with either the standard four-cylinder or the optional V6 engine. Improvements to the four-cylinder engine for this version of the compact Toyota SUV reduced noise. An available third-row seat and powerful V6 make it a good alternative to some midsized SUVs. The RAV4 is agile and roomy, rides comfortably and has a smooth drivetrain and a flexible interior. Fuel economy with either engine is impressive. Side- and curtain airbags are standard.
