Includes acceleration and handling
What Owners Say
"It accelerates very well and handles better than most trucks."
Robert H., VA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Transmission has held up even after 180,000 miles. I often use 4 wheel drive"
Anonymous, CT (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Handles very well for a truck."
Anonymous, FL (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Good power, will tow a 4500lb enclosed trailer comfortably on all but the steepest grades. Handling is more car like than truck."
Anonymous, CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"2003 Great truck, no problems!"
Vickie A., AZ (2003 Toyota Tundra)"I like the way it drives"
David C., IN (2003 Toyota Tundra)"It is supercharged so the acceleration is great. I just upgraded the suspension and it drives like a new vehicle again."
Henry K., TX (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Still accelerates as it did in 2003. No 4WD problems. Handles much the same as it always has."
Kurt M., MO (2003 Toyota Tundra)"It has plenty of power, for towing, or for quick acceleration."
Anonymous, WA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"smooth ride. good value for the price"
Anonymous, KS (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Excellent acceleration with large V-8."
John S., TN (2003 Toyota Tundra)"For a truck that is 15 years old, the Tundra acceleration and handling are both excellent,"
Donna R., VA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Great acceleration and towing ability. I also use this truck to plow our private road in the Winter. It is extremely durable and realiable"
Michael L., CO (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Great acceleration"
Anonymous, VA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Ride and handling are both good. Acceleration is pretty good for a 6 cylinder."
Anonymous, TN (2003 Toyota Tundra)"This truck has the TRD suspension which makes the ride a bit stiffer but pays off with the resistance to body roll when driving twisty roads at speed. It certainly is no sports car but for a truck it handles very securely when driven at relatively high speeds. The 4.7 litre V-8 provides fairly spirited acceleration when called upon. It does require more downshifting and higher RPM's than similar vehicles I have driven but it does get the job done quite nicely and the engine sounds very refine..."
Lance N., OR (2003 Toyota Tundra)"power"
Danny Q., TX (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Even with 121+K miles there is still snappy acceleration and it handles well pulling a trailer or without a trailer."
Thomas G., MT (2003 Toyota Tundra)"VERY GOOD ACCELERATION HAS THE V8 ENGINE."
Anonymous, UT (2003 Toyota Tundra)"tHIS TRUCK EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS IN ACCELERATION, HANDLING AND LOAD CARRYING ABILITY . WOULD LIKE IDEPENDANT AXLES AND REAR DISC BRAKES ."
Anonymous, CT (2003 Toyota Tundra)"V8 engine with good power and acceleration. Smooth ride and easy handling. Pleasure to drive."
Francis M., PA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"As a 2 wheel drive it goes as well as most 4 wheel drive trucks."
Anonymous, GA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"very firm ride"
Jack M., FL (2003 Toyota Tundra)"lots of power, VERY COMFORTABLE RIDE,"
Anonymous, CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Acceleration is excellent and it handles exceptionally well. The turning radius is awesome for this size vehicle. It maintains control in emergency braking conditions and handles very well in wet driving conditions."
Carol O., LA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"good sightlines; excellent acceleration"
Anonymous, OR (2003 Toyota Tundra)"It is a very well built vehicle"
DAVID C., IN (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Very good comfortable ride for a 4X4 pickup. Very smooth quiet engine."
Anonymous, CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"great power"
JOHN H., CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"The V-8 power plant is more than adequate for normal driving and cargo loads. The turning circle is quite large, making it difficult to park head first into perpendicular parking spaces. I usually need to pull in part way, back up for a better angle, then pull in again. It's easier to just back into a space."
Anonymous, CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Rides rough but accelerates very well"
GREG T., FL (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Everything is a very good truck"
ENGELBERTO H., CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Very reliable!"
Anonymous, MD (2003 Toyota Tundra)"It is still extremely tight after all of these years. Has the best brakes of any car that I have driven. Handles extremely well. My only complaint is the poor gas mileage, especially in city driving. I suppose with the V8 engine, and a truck, it was normal. I still like it and should drive it more. ( I have a 1992 Mazda Miata that I also must keep driving)"
Anonymous, LA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"RPM's drop too low before it downshifts,so have to depress accelerator to floor. Then it goes wild with RPM's."
CHARLES K., CA (2003 Toyota Tundra)"With the TRD suspension package the handling is very secure and free of body lean even when driving enthusiastically. The V-8, while smaller than the engines in other trucks, provides very competitive acceleration and very decent mileage even when towing a trailer. My only complaint is I wish it had a 5-speed auto transmission instead of the 4 speed."
LANCE N., OR (2003 Toyota Tundra)"I test drove the Tacoma. After having a Volvo 740 Turbo (a drunk smashed & totaled it when it was parked) the acceleration was disappointing. I also learned that Tundra was #1 for safety-that made the difference for me. Love my Truck"
MARTHA C., FL (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Very comfortable ride and highway cruising vehicle."
DAVID T., NC (2003 Toyota Tundra)"Excellent off- road vehicle with great creature for 2003"
Anonymous, MD (2003 Toyota Tundra)
"problems with throttle response"
Ron W., AL (2003 Toyota Tundra)
