Includes acceleration and handling
What Owners Say
"Good acceleration, back camera very useful."
Anonymous, QC (2011 Toyota Tundra)"with the 5.7 L you have plenty of power for towing and the truck handles the corners with good stability"
Will E., IL (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Quick off the line. Corners very well for a large pickup"
Ron M., AB (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Very good for big truck."
Anonymous, NC (2011 Toyota Tundra)"driving experience is good for comfort. control, Acceleration from dead stop is a concern because of sudden, almost uncontrolled surge in acceleration that feels unsafe."
Anonymous, TX (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Excellent acceleration and handling, Needs 4X4 in some rain to keep tires from spinning when needing a fast acceleration from a stop"
Anonymous, VA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Good acceleration even pulling a trailer, good road handling, average mileage."
Anonymous, CA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Acceleration and handling are great. The truck responds very well in both areas."
Derek W., MA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"The 4.7 V8 does everything I need it to including towing a boat while getting 15 mpg."
Wesley P., MN (2011 Toyota Tundra)"The vehicle has a factory towing package and a different gear ratio than standard Tundras so it accelerates very quickly. it handles smoothly considering the size and acceleration."
Anonymous, NE (2011 Toyota Tundra)"With the 5.7 liter engine this truck is a BEAST! Best load toting/hauler I've ever owned. Sacrifice mpgs of course."
Jim R., GA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Excellent power and acceleration."
Anonymous, WY (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Great acceleration & handling"
Kathleen W., OR (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Acceleration is quick and smooth. It handles well on dry pavement and on snowy and wet roads. However, on washboard roads it bounces. But I love my Tundra and will buy another when this one wears out. At my age 77 I doubt it will wear out before I do."
Anonymous, MN (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Nimble and fast, plenty of torque for towing"
Edwin V., CT (2011 Toyota Tundra)"my toyota has great acceleration and can pull my 7000 pound trailer easily. it has comfortable seating and is quiet. it handles well for a big pickup truck and stopping is adequate. a bit jittery on rough roads. interior room is great"
Will E., IL (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Pulls our trailer without any hesitation. Rides almost like a sedan"
Wesley J., MT (2011 Toyota Tundra)"It has the same displacement engine as my previous Chevrolet, but the engine is much more powerful when towing our boat with a cab full of people. It’s crew cab also has much more room than my previous Chevrolet. No regrets from trading up and none of the small things breaking and failing as with our last truck."
Dan F., TX (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Acceleration is excellent, steering is quick and somewhat sensitive. Road feel is minimal which I like. Great visibility but this is a big truck and you need to get used to figuring out where the body edges are located."
Charles B., IN (2011 Toyota Tundra)"We pull a 30 ft camper with the truck which has adaquate acceleration with the acceleration and ease of handling when towing, even on mountainous roads."
Joanne E., MN (2011 Toyota Tundra)"The acceleration is memorable for a stock vehicle. The transmission helps in making it possible, but is incredibly smooth when not being pushed. Best of both worlds."
Richard B., CA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Very good acceleration and braking. Safety systems, stability and traction control, work well."
Anonymous, AR (2011 Toyota Tundra)"This truck is no slouch in handling the road. If you stomp on it (such as a short merger ramp to the expressway), she out-performs your expectations. The ride and response are impressive - yes, it is a truck, but I am comfortable on 13-hour, 850 mile trips from Arizona to San Antonio, TX. When towing, there is only a little change in its performance. The truck gives the driver confidence in handling all road conditions and when towing. When not towing, it will corner like it is on rails and is a thrill to drive."
Jacqueline T., AZ (2011 Toyota Tundra)"More than adequate acceleration."
William B., PA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Very smoothe"
J O., VA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"It has always driven fine."
KAREN B., KY (2011 Toyota Tundra)"lots of power and ease of handling"
JERRY B., TX (2011 Toyota Tundra)"bought it new, and it has continued to be a great truck"
Anonymous, GA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Front end is a little "spongy" feels like it could have better turn in, in corners. (realizing it is a truck, it could be better)"
OYSTEIN P., FL (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Gas hog."
Anonymous, CO (2011 Toyota Tundra)"I had a small truck prior to this one and pulling my bass boat was more difficult. Now, I hardly notice that I'm pulling it since the Tundra is heavier and more powerful."
PRESTON H., TN (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Starting from a stopped position the accelerator is very sensitive. When pressure is first applied, nothing happens. When slight additional pressure is applied the vehicle leaps forward...not like any other vehicle I have ever owned. I have taken it in twice to the dealer and have been told this is normal if the truck has no load. My response was, "So, I suppose the fix is to drive it around with a 1000 pound load all the time.""
DON T., GA (2011 Toyota Tundra)"When first starting the engine seems to race for a few minutes. On the positive side it is wonderful to drive in every way including noise level & overall comfort. It has plenty of power."
CLARENCE W., ID (2011 Toyota Tundra)"I have experienced an annoying high idle when A/C compressor kicks on and also a very touchy throttle. Neither of these problems were corrected. The dealer stated it would "take a model change". Other than that it has been very good vehicle."
Anonymous, FL (2011 Toyota Tundra)"the accelerator is "jumpy" at very slow speeds - when crawling along it is not smooth"
STANSEL H., AR (2011 Toyota Tundra)"Awesome power and acceleration, great engine sounds."
SETH B., MO (2011 Toyota Tundra)"We use this truck in the mountains of Colorado and are often off road - great clearance, nice 4x4 control, good power when towing, even at altitude. Feel safe and confident driving this truck."
Anonymous, CO (2011 Toyota Tundra)"The cruise control causes the truck to immediately drop down a couple of gears and growl as it accelerates rapidly. They say it is normal. Truck rides rough but is quiet."
DAN F., TX (2011 Toyota Tundra)
"This truck has outstanding acceleration and handling on the highway."
