This generation of the Tundra was bulked up to take on Detroit's full-sized workhorses. Growing dramatically in size, but losing much of the refinement of the previous model, the Tundra, once considered the Camry of pickups -- fully-modern and easy to live with -- became one of the least refined and most dated. Shortcomings abound. Among them, the Tundra's ride is jittery, especially with the TRD off-road package.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

GARY W., MO (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Great power and acceleration. sometimes a little too much coming off a dead stop, can give a little jerk until you get used to the pedal. Pulls great, we tow a 9500 lb. 5th wheel RV and it works fine, a little slow up steep hills of course."

Anonymous, AZ (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"OMG amazing, The Michigan State Police shut down I94 due to severe winter conditions. That truck never even lost traction even when I had to plow through the median to avoid a jacked knifed semi. It was unbelievable, that's when I knew this truck was the right choice."

Richard C., VA (2010 Toyota Tundra)

Anonymous, MI (2010 Toyota Tundra)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Very comfortable ride. What I absolutely HATE and what would make me never buy this if I lived in a colder climate is the fact that you cannot close the outside vents if there is a difference of a certain amount from colder air outside to warmer inside. This may be to avoid steaming up the interior, however it is horrid. I constantly get cold air blown on me. Traffic pollution in my face and allergens. You can override it but only for a few minutes. So that is horrid. A real deal breaker"

DEBBI J., AZ (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Best comfort for long distance, beats Ford or Chevy"

Anonymous, TX (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"with 280000 km on it, it still has not a squeak or rattle in it and never has had."

HENDRIK S., AB (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Very comfortable ride"

JOSEPH T., NY (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Rides like what I would imagine a Cadillac would"

DEAN L., TN (2010 Toyota Tundra)

JACK A., UT (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Ride could use some improvement Seats are weak also"

GREG W., CO (2010 Toyota Tundra)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I purchased the 4.6L V8 because the 5.7L was most popular and therefor harder to get at the end of the season. I was able to command a better price for the 4.6L. It starts at more than $2000-less on the cost of engine alone and there were many more color choices available in the 4.6L DBL cab configuration in August of 2010. I do get some benefit from MPG over the 5.7L but not as much as you'd expect. I purchased my truck new in 2010 using online help from Sam's Club, then rebates, and then my ow"

MICHAEL M., IN (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Very reasonable price for a very reliable vehicle"

LAURIE D., AZ (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"After 115,000 miles, I have no complaints. I tow a 20 ft boat and a 26 ft travel trailer and have been across country and up to and all around Alaska. My gas mileage when towing averages 9 MPG but has been as high as 22 Mpg on 55 MPH highways.Average 17 to 18 at 70 MPH. 15 to 16 in town. And, the power is great."

DAVID S., OR (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Expensive for the price, but quality is excellent. Don't buy the upgrade packages they try to sell at the dealership (paint protection, glass etching, undercoat (they did a poor job on mine) etc."

ED M., AB (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"I bought it to pull a 25' RV, and it is great with that, otherwise the V8 is a bit too powerful, but 89K trouble free miles, and it was so very inexpensive for it's value."

STEVEN S., TX (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"I bought 4wd because of area I use it in.it was lower prices than the other brands I looked at and more reliable"

MALCOLM L., TX (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"It was bought used a limited edition has a lot of nice features, Sensors on the front which works well. Fold away mirrors. Big cab, big bed box. Leather interior.heated seats Dual temperature controls. All works well. Comfortable ride."

Anonymous, MN (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Reliability is fantastic."

Anonymous, CO (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Love my Tundra but a bit disappointed in the fact that this is my second one, with approx. the same number of miles and are experiencing the same problem as I did on my 2004 Tundra. Rack and pinion issues with leakage. Maybe a "fluke" but odd that both trucks are/had the same problem around the same number of miles 6 years apart?? Also the cost is again high but then looking at other makes/models they are also. $40K for a truck that is a 1/2 ton, W/O being a diesel engine and NOT a limited e"

REYNOLD A., UT (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"I felt the price was a bit to high for the age and mileage at the time of purchase, but the value of Toyota products stays higher than any other vehicle I have owned."

Anonymous, SC (2010 Toyota Tundra)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Looks very nice"

Anonymous, OR (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"The white Tundra is pretty plain looking, so we've had to spruce it up with pin-striping and nicer wheels. The red and blue Tundras are great looking on their own, but harder to find."

Anonymous, OR (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"It stands out. There are fewer Toyota Tundra's on the road so you don't run into yourself very often. Slight mods like tonnau cover, grill inset, step rails and your very different than the rest. All Tundra's were built 'high' compared to GM and Ford. I looked at Chevy and the only way to get a truck sitting nearly as tall as a 4x4 was to purchase a 4x4. The 2x4's were low and obviously not 4x4's. I didn't want to pay for something I don't need, just to get a more commanding seat. All Tundra's h"

MICHAEL M., IN (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"No basic change in the styling since I bought it so it still looks new."

WILLIAM R., TX (2010 Toyota Tundra)

"Love the color Sandy Beach. Many compliments, esp. older women! Upset color has not been offered since 2010"

JOSEPH T., NY (2010 Toyota Tundra)
