This generation of the Tundra was bulked up to take on Detroit's full-sized workhorses. Growing dramatically in size, but losing much of the refinement of the previous model, the Tundra, once considered the Camry of pickups -- fully-modern and easy to live with -- became one of the least refined and most dated. Shortcomings abound. Among them, the Tundra's ride is jittery, especially with the TRD off-road package.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"easy on ramp gunning up"

Anonymous, PA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"It just dominates the driving environment. "Look out autos, I'm coming through!""

MARTIN B., CA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Handles great in the snow"

Anonymous, NY (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Great acceleration, smooth and quiet. Comfortable."

MAX W., AR (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Has a problem with quick acceleration. In an emergency I can't depend on the truck not stalking out. It doesn't actually turn itself off, it just stops. Dealer can't seem to reproduce it after 5 visits. Not a very satisfactory response."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"I like the acceleration I had the smaller v8 their is a bigger power"

ROBERT R., TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"The good- I have a TRD Pro. The suspension is excellent, even when on road. Of course, the power of the 5.7L engine is strong throughout the RPM range. The Bad- No matter how gently I try to drive, the gas milage hovers in the 12 to 13 mpg range. I was hoping for better."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Acceleration is only adequate. Vehicle does a lot of upshift/downshift when in cruise control - very annoying."

RICHARD H., WA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Lots of power and feels solid."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Drives quite, runs great, handles good"

BILLIE G., TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"For a 5.7 liter V8 the acceleration is lethargic compared to other vehicles I have driven. However, there is more than enough power for towing and hauling a load."

N H., CT (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Poor acceleration, had a new 97 Toyoda truck, couldn't get out of its own way, this 2015 is exactly the same wat, no improvements in 18 years."

KAY P., PA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Frequently does not handle corners on a dirt road without chattering sideways"

Anonymous, VT (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"This truck drives like a luxury car, very smooth"

PHILIP C., MI (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Acceleration is slow. Handling is laborious. the side view mirrors and their proximity to the window support create dangerous blind spots on the left and the right of the truck."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Entune entertainment system is not very good. Always dropping connection to the phone and none of the apps are very user friendly."

Anonymous, ND (2015 Toyota Tundra)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The seats are upgraded, 10-way, multi-functional, but they are just too large and are very uncomforatable. They don't fit a regular body well, and on the drivers side, they are too far away from the arm rests to comfortably engage the steering wheel. I put a foam wedge on the seat to improve my back position."

JOHN D., CA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"The seats are too hard. I have to sit on a pillow on long trips to avoid a backache. My sister has the same issue with her Tundra."

Anonymous, AZ (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Two negatives and one positive. First the neg: The ride sways far too much after a bump in the road. Second, no top handle on the driver's side to hold on to when entering or exiting the truck. The pos: The comfort of the front seats. I have back and leg issues, which makes it difficult to drive some vehicles. But the front seat of the Tundra is perfect for me.."

SHANGREG P., OR (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Front seats are extremely comfortable, both for heavier/taller driver and for shorter/lighter passenger."

Anonymous, OR (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Previous Tundra had passenger side electric seat controls. Not on this one. dispointing as did not realize it until on our Maine logging roads and tried to adjust seat"

Anonymous, ME (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"As you mentioned in the annual car issue the ride of my Tundra TRD package is not good. On any road that has wavy pavement such as occurs on highways, the vehicle bounces and is just outright annoying. Dealer had no suggestions to fix this."

Anonymous, CO (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Poor fuel mileage needs back up beeper and side beeper"

BILLIE G., TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Took it into the dealer three times to fix, what I believe, is front end squeaks and rattles. They finally said it was the spare tire holder which I think is a stupid answer. I don't think their Toyota service people know what they are doing. If I have something major go wrong I doubt they will be able to repair it."

WILLIAM N., FL (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Climate control excellent. Power seats very adjustable. Noise level OK. Back seat is huge. Ride is not a zippy as my former 2004 Tundra."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Very comfortable ride drove over a thousand miles felt like I had not driven that far"

Anonymous, FL (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Seats could be more comfortable for the price and trim level of the vehicle. Climate control could be smarter. My 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe always started with the window defroster on, which made a lot of sense in the winter. With my Tundra, I have to remember to turn the defroster on when I leave the vehicle the night before, otherwise, I could use my remote starter and I'd still have to scrape the windshield and wait for it to defrost."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Only issue is seat is too high for tall drivers. Does not lower far enough"

SCOTT F., NY (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"The one item I think should be corrected is the lack of illumination of the instrument panel during day time driving with the head light switch in AUTO. Under some lighting conditions the instruments are very hard to read the speedometer on cloudy rainy days sun in my eyes etc. Turning on the head lights will illuminate the instrument panel but I consider that an unsatisfactory solution for a top of the line vehicle. I think this issue could be considered a safety issue. I owned a 2007 Tundra L"

Anonymous, TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"It has a very stiff ride and I find it very uncomfortable"

TERESA D., CA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Huge back seat. Long time truck owners & backseats were always uncomfortable but not in a Tundra. Excellent towing capacity. We always had dually's for that but the Tundra is outstanding."

TONYA B., TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Too many blind spots from drivers seat"

Anonymous, FL (2015 Toyota Tundra)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I have owned 3 Toyota's in the past 25 years the last one being a 2003 Matrix and I have noticed a definite decline in the overall quality of the vehicle. My 2015 Tundra is a great looking truck with plenty of power but i do not feel like it will last forever like my 1994 Toyota has. 280k miles and still going strong. Interior and Exterior still in like new condition, the 2015's Interior is already showing signs of wear."

CHRIS C., TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Bought Toyota Certified Used Truck with 14K miles. I got a nail in a tire at 17K miles and the Toyota dealership refused to honor any tire warranties because tires were to worn out. I had to pay for a new set of tires after 3K miles of use."

JEFF D., FL (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"toyota makes a great product"

Anonymous, NJ (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Best truck for the money. Period."

GUY K., LA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"It is best vehicle we have ever purchased"

KEITH I., IA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"We purchased this from new car dealer with 3,000 miles on it. We paid way too much for it (10K too much) because of expensive aftermarket items prior owner had had dealer install. We did not do enough research on this vehicle before signing the deal. After getting home (before picking up the vehicle) we did some more research and wanted to back out of the deal. 15 hours later when we went to dealer to give them the down payment and trade in other vehicle, and they said there was NO grace perio"

MARGARET H., ID (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"This truck is nothing like the trucks I knew years ago. In fact it is a very high priced car in a truck body. The down side is that carrying capacity is sacrificed for cab size. For example, I can carry my recumbent trike in the hatchback Prius fully open, but I have to fold it to carry it in the bed of the truck."

MARTIN B., CA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"If I had to do it over I should have gotten the Ford F-150. Buyers remorse."

PAUL C., TX (2015 Toyota Tundra)

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

BRENT L., SD (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Huge interior"

DAN T., FL (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"We purchased a 1794 edition which is beautiful - luxury in a pickup truck is rare, but this delivers!"

ALICIA C., MN (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"I receive many compliments on my truck. The color of the interior and exterior harmonize and the body styling completes the package."

Anonymous, CA (2015 Toyota Tundra)

"Ride, comfort"
