The current-generation Tundra bulked up to take on Detroit's full-sized workhorses. Dramatically growing in size and losing much of the refinement of the previous smaller-scale model, the Tundra has so far failed to make inroads into the Detroit-dominated segment.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Always wanted a truck that was comfortable and dependable and that’s what I have in a Toyota Tundra."

Anonymous, MA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Very comfortable seats, truck is very quiet on road, all creature comforts make it a luxury truck"

Anonymous, NM (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"The 1794 edition Tundra feels like a luxury SUV. We really like it for long trips. The cab is very spacious. When family visits, or friends ride with us on a trip, everyone comments on the comfort level of back seats."

Arnold C., AZ (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"The seats are not very comfortable on long trips (too firm). However, the rear seating area has more than enough leg room for large adults."

Steve U., TX (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Rear seat belts lock up with adults in outer and middle seats. Toyota says they can do nothing about it, that this “crew‿ cab back seat is made for children! However, the middle seat will not accept a car seat. Also, the middle head rest cannot be raised to a safe height for average-to-taller people."

Frank C., WA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Rides is a bit stiff, but the overall comfort level of the seats is very good. Road noise is noticeable."

William T., ON (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"I have owned several Toyotas since 2005. I have rented many cars, both domestic and foreign, over the last 30 years. Tonthis day Toyota has the most comfortable seats. The 2017 Tundra has a sooth ride with ample acceleration when required. It is a very comfortable vehicle. RB"

R B., BC (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"excellent ride and comfort"

Anonymous, GA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"The seats are too hard and the ride is too bumpy and the road noise it too loud."

Stephen E., CA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"The choice of a chrome accent piece around the center console was a bad idea. It reflects the sun into the driver's eyes."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"The seating has very limited options for adjustments."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"all good"

Anonymous, AR (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"seats need a lumbar feature for drivers with lower back issues."

Anonymous, KY (2017 Toyota Tundra)

Courtney A., NJ (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Like the support and comfort of the fabric seats. Good Michelin tires with minimal noise."

James M., OH (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Smooth and quiet ride."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Tundra)

Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"quiet ride even tho truck is a 4x4, very smooth, quiet no wind noise like previous tundra (2011) better seats"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"I'm not sure if this an appropriate space for this, but I will submit anyway. The headlights on the Tundra are less than optimal when driving after dark, and especially during a rain shower. This is a safety factor that should be evaluated by Toyota."

Anonymous, WI (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"VERY comfortable. In line with a luxury car. Very smooth."

John M., FL (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"The Tundra double cab has very comfortable seats in the front and back and seats 5 passengers with ease. The cab is extremely quiet on any paved road at highway speeds and comparable to a luxury sedan. The ride is smooth and effortless and a vast improvement over my previous Ford F150 XLT extended cab by far."

Lynn W., AR (2017 Toyota Tundra)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Comparably equipped Ford, GM, or Ram truck would cost $10k to 20k more and would not be as highly rated in terms of reliability."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Excellent all around function of the truck versus the price. Impossible to beat."

Anonymous, MT (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Great deal at North Side Toyota"

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Excellent value for the price"

Anonymous, UT (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Does all we expected it to do."

Terry K., OH (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"After owning other make of truck, the Tundra is not as nicely finished for the same price. A good example of this is the cup holders in the front seats. They are hard plastic and appear cheap compared with rubber lined "grip" surfaces found on other makes."

Steve U., TX (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Toyota has a better why to buy a truck.First no big discounts and not some many options. Fair price."

David B., NY (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"This is a very comfortable,smooth-riding and powerful pickup truck. In the Double Cab, Limited configuration it is semi-luxurious, wit leather seats and accrnts, but not over-done. It is V8 powered, however and therefore notban economy vehivle. I very much like the truck."

R B., BC (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Well worth the money. Handles perfectly and turns like it’s a compact car. Back up camera is amazing and clear. Will likely buy another Toyota Tundra when retire."

Angela G., OK (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Overall value is excellent. This truck drives like a luxury car, smoothie and quiet."

Anonymous, SC (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"There are at least 15 features missing from this vehicle that are standard on vehicles costing $20,000 less. Example; Automatic climate control, auto up windows, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights, seat heaters, rear center cup holders, etc, etc etc."

Stephen E., CA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Outstanding reliability, power, and statistically expected durability; slightly better than expected MPG"

Anonymous, UT (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Great price for what is in the Limited crewmax. Compared to F150, with same level of features (lariat) this cost less. I believe that reliability will be better too."

David J., PA (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Good truck if you do not plan to tow a trailer with 75% of the truck rating. Trailer @ 75% (8500# of rated 11600#) across the middle of the US will convince you to sell as soon as you return home. Not enough power to climb hills, 6% grade, above 45 mph unless rpm above 4000. Pulling trailer for 5 weeks at 7.3 mpg not what I was led to expect."

Ron R., AZ (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"It certainly isn't a Ford F-150."

Anonymous, MT (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"My 2011 Tundra had Driver entry assist entry 2017 No Memory power seats 2017 No Retractable mirrors 2017 No Extra storage 2017 No The 2017 does have Blind Spot Indicator (good) and higher price"

Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Tundra)

"Past reliable repair record. Various models to get just what we want."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Tundra)
