CR's Take

The Unit 1 Aura MIPS is an expensive urban and road helmet that earns top marks for impact absorption in our tests. Available in three sizes, it features a full-dial fit system, a magnetic buckle, and MIPS rotational impact protection technology. The helmet is also compatible with a companion app and includes integrated lighting, e-bike certification, a one-year warranty, and a damage replacement program. While it offers an extensive set of features, it scores lower than some competing models for ventilation and fit adjustment. Additional technology includes crash detection with SOS alert capability, ambient light sensing, and Bluetooth connectivity for app-based customization. The package includes extra padding, a charging cable, and a magnetic attachable brim. Turn-signal functionality is available with a separately sold remote.
