What Owners Say

Emission control devices (includes EGR)

"Car was purchased used. Engine light came on after I'd driven it about 30 miles. It did not pass emissions testing. I took it back to the dealership and they replaced both catalytic converters free of charge. It's been working great since."

Anonymous, UT (2015 Ford F-350 FX4 6.2-L V8)

"Emissions tech should be considered a warranty failure until they get a system that is more reliable and doesn't cost so much to repair."

Anonymous, OR (2015 Ford F-350 XLT 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"1 Experienced a threatened reduction to 50 MPH due to DEF issue. Was corrected with a PCM update performed under warranty. 2 Had an error and check engine light indicating a reductant quality issue, appeared to be a clogged DEF injector. turned out to be due to a restriction in the particulate filter that required a manual regeneration cycle. This I was charged $308.00 for."

Anonymous, (2015 Ford F-350 FX4 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"I experienced a three or four times in the life of the truck each time it cost money"

Anonymous, (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"the DEF pump went out, noticed by a check engine light, then check engine light went on again and the problem was the Def pump heater."

Anonymous, MN (2015 Ford F-350 FX4 6.7-L V8 diesel)

Anonymous, FL (2015 Ford F-350 XLT 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"The backup camera quite often but inconsistently goes blurry. It has a large dark line about 1" from the top and everything under the line is bad video without any recognizable video. The backup camera is unusable. I have video and still photos from multiple instances. Ford will not fix this claiming it does not fail when they test it. I have a hostile relationship with Ford since they refuse to even log my complaint. If this does not fail for them they do not want to log it regardless of any do"

Anonymous, ID (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"Stops working intermittently, usually during rain or high humidity."

What Owners Say

Gauges

"The orange engine light is on most of the time and there are supposedly no anomalies"

Anonymous, VA (2015 Ford F-350 XL 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"My gauges and computer system just started bugging out. Everything was blinking on the screen as well as the dash. Lights were blinking and giving many different messages back to back. The vehicle would not start. This happened twice and on the second attempt Ford had to bring in engineers to help them diagnose the problem. The factory tires had blowouts of both front tires with less than 25k miles on them within a few months of each other and never being driven off road or on bad roads. Both passenger side windows (front and rear) just "fell" down into the door within 3 days of each other and because they are held up with something that is basically a giant rubber band they can't been held up in place by the door motor like older power windows. One happened while in Mexico and I had to duct tape the window up until I went back home. One of them just fell when the truck was parked, meaning anyone walking by now had access to the interior of the vehicle. This problem can happen when the vehicle is off and the windows are up. This vehicle was never abused or driven hard and at the start of this survey the proper trim package wasn't available to choose from but this was Fords "best", most expensive Platinum package with EVERY available option. This was a retirement present to myself and the only vehicle I ever special ordered. I bought my first new Ford truck in 1982 so I was a Ford guy but no longer am confident in their new "aluminum" beds and other issues I have read about and hear about from people"

Anonymous, AZ (2015 Ford F-350 XLT 6.7-L V8 diesel)

Anonymous, (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)

Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, leaks.

What Owners Say

"had to clense converter before it stoped running on long road trip. very expensive. Ford garage said that even if it was under warranty, Ford warranty would not cover this--- just like the other brands!! (Chey etc.)"

William C., WY (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)
Other/unsure

"Warning light came on - apparently due to problem in the steering wheel clockspring?. Was NOT covered under warranty - ~$400 to repair."

Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbo or supercharger, timing chain or timing belt.

What Owners Say

Cylinder head

"Truck would hesitate when climbing a hill at low RPM (1,100 approx). Ford stated they were aware of these issues and they were isolated to a specific elevation range in which I live. After 3 visits, the dealership pulled my head, cleaned valves"

Michael M., NM (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"Due to DPF cleaning method the Valves were damaged by 9800 miles and needed rebuild. After rebuild the truck no longer cleans the filter and the truck is low on Power. Ford blames me for not letting the DPF clean - although I have no control over the cleaning. Ford found a loose glow plug connection and claimed this put the truck in Safe mode although no codes appeared. After the glow plug fix the truck still does not clean the filter properly. When low on power the truck exhibits very poor tran"

Anonymous, ID (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)

Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, oil leaks.

What Owners Say

Engine computer

"Warning light came on saying I needed to clean fuel filter. Then truck went into safe mode and could go only 20 miles an hour .Took it to dealer who changed the oil and fuel filter. They noticed a small coolant leak by the turbo charger. They got permission from Ford to eventually put the engine to properly replace all gaskets. Been a joy since. No leaks"

Jay H., AZ (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)

"Low oil pressure message at first, then a low coolant message. We had it towed to the nearest dealer. They found the abs plug was not seated correctly. Plug inspected, cleaned and reinstalled. Messages cleared. The truck works fine again."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Ford F-350 XL 6.7-L V8 diesel)
Engine harness

"Truck shut down and then gave a variety of different error messages. Dealer explained it was a network error which was a fault in the wiring harness. Dealer diagnostics can't locate the fault so I'll have to keep driving the truck knowing this will continue to occur again. This is out of warranty at 37,000 miles and I'm already spending $1000 and will spend much more as this problem will likely get worse explains the dealer."

Matthew W., MO (2015 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.7-L V8 diesel)
