"The starter quit all at once with no warning. I was in a Lowes parking lot, fortunately not far from home. Even luckier, my mechanic friend happened to be in the same Lowes when the truck failed to start. We tried to jump start it, but ended up calling my insurance company to have the truck towed to a repair shop not far away. Replacing the starter is a big job that I and my friend don't have the facilities for that job."

IF THE PITMAN ARM TO GEARBOX ATTACHMENT NUT LOOSENS, A NOISE AND A LOOSE FEEL IN THE STEERING COULD OCCUR. IF THE CONDITION PROGRESSED AND SERVICE WAS NOT SOUGHT, THE NUT COULD BACK OFF COMPLETELY AND THE PITMAN ARM COULD SEPARATE FROM THE GEAR CAUSING A LOSS OF STEERING. IF THE WARNING IS NOT HEEDED AND STEERING IS LOST, A CRASH MAY RESULT.
