Cargo Space in SUVs, Minivans, and Wagons
We measure it by determining the volume of an expandable pipe-frame box that we fit through the rear opening and extend into the cargo bay as far as possible (with the second- and third-row seats folded down), making sure the hatch can still be closed. We measure trunk capacity by seeing how many suitcases and duffel bags a trunk can accommodate. Vehicles are ranked from most to least luggage capacity within the category.
